Notes on Tax Implications of Donations to WHA
(by Robert Fricker CPA).
After reviewing various publications it appears that WHA is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to these organizations are deductible as charitable contributions. The best proof of this is that WHA is listed in Publication 78, Cumulative List of Organizations described in Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. This is a list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. Therefore, We can assume that ALL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Winterhurst Hockey Association are DEDUCTIBLE as charitable contributions. Deductibility can vary depending on each individuals/corporations circumstances. Please let me know if there are additional issues. Hopefully this clears up the confusion. (Tax ID #34-1384064).
