16 July 2007.... TRENTON ONTARIO ...
Warriors players and parents:
Thanks to everyone for making it to the Trenton Tournament over the weekend. I know it was a little out of the way, and the Toronto traffic was , well, the Toronto traffic which did not make it very easy to get there, but it was a fun tournament and weekend.
I thought the boys played well for the majority of the weekend and we finished strong with the two wins, one over a team that was going to the Championship. We played the Durham 96 team as well as anyone. We also received a lot of positive feedback from the parents and coaches from the other teams. They came togther and played some good team hockey the last few days and it showed, finishing 2-2 against some strong Canadian competetion.
The only downside was Jack Mallets injury, but hopefully it won't keep him down too long- get well soon, Jack. We will be getting together soon for some dryland training and practices which will be posted soon, so keep an eye on the web page. Thanks also to Jim DeChant for taking the video of the games, which I will be taking a look at. Mike Duffy also has posted some photos from the tournament, so if you want to check them out, go to the 96 web site and click on "album". Again, thanks for the support and we will be in touch. Best

11 June 2007.... TRENTON ONTARIO 13-14-15 July 2007
We have begun the process of signing up the 1996 Cleveland Warriors for the tournament in Quinte (Trenton) Ontario for the weekend of 13-14-15 July 2007. It is East of Toronto, a bit farther than we wanted, but looks like a good fit. Here is some information.
1) Tournament is voluntary. We realize people have a life in the summer. We ask that you advise as soon as you can if you are unavailable, and we will fill the spot for the weekend if necessary.
2) Tournament is 4 game guarantee. No admissions charged. Skills competition for all players, ($5.oo CA per entry).
3) Playing at a single facility in the RCAF Arena in TRENTON,ON. This is about 1 hour East of Toronto. This is a new facility, and I am told it is great.
4) Trenton is on Lake Ontario and there is a Lake/Music festival that weekend, should be fun.
5) We will be staying at a Holiday In right downtown Trenton, for Friday and Sat night. Close to the rink. Rate is $117.oo per night Canadian. Soon you will need to transfer the hotel rooms into your names and your credit card. Call 613-394-4855 , (you can also call 1-800-HOLIDAY, and ask for the TRENTON, ONT ). Rooms are under "Cleveland Warriors". I held 15 rooms. This needs to be done by 22 June.
6) Earliest game on Friday would be 4:00pm, (I will try to get later game), so worst case would need to leave Cleveland around 7:00-8:00am?? (Guessing a 6 hour drive?). Championship on Sunday could be as late as 3:30pm.
7) We will be playing the Quinte Greyhounds, in the AAA division. However, I believe we will match up. We played them twice last year in the summer and they are pretty much the same team, and we are improved.

COACHES NOTES (PAST) :
31 May 2007..... Warriors parents and players: Thanks to everyone for coming to the player/parent meeting at Joes. It was nice to meet and talk to you outside of the rink and it seems like we have a really good group of parents. The kids also seemed to get along very well. We will probably start getting active around the end of June, so please check the web site occasionaly for updates. Again, thanks to the Geithers for setting up the get together yesterday.I will be in touch with everyone shortly and don't forget to pick up your Jerseys so everyone will have them for the tournament.

April 2007.....Welcome to the 96 Warriors birth year team. Tryouts are finally over ( whew!) and the team has been picked so Joe and I would like to invite everyone to a parent/player get together on Wednesday May 30, 2007 at 6:30 PM at Joe Geithers house, 1600 Arthur Ave.in Lakewood, three houses north of Hillard on Arthur. This will serve as a meeting/introduction so parents and players can get to meet each other in a setting outside the rink. Dogs and beer will be provided, but if anyone wants to bring something such as chips, pop , etc, that would be welcome. At this time we will discuss philosophy, fees, plans for the summer and upcoming season, uniforms etc. and also answer any questions you might have. I would appreciate if you could respond back to me and let me know if you can make it to this meeting. We were also planning on an early practice, but Winterhurst is closed until June 18 and other ice could not be secured at this time. I hope you are as excited as I am about the upcoming season and I look forward to seeing everyone there. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 440-734-2393.
