Dear Junior High Players and Parents,
This letter is designed to provide some basic information in regards to off-season training for the football team. You, the junior high players, are now members of the 2012 Warwick High School football team and we need you to become part of our program. By becoming involved in our training you will better prepare yourself for next season as well as for other sports you participate in. Our goals are simple - challange for Section titles and return, and win, in District playoffs. To achieve these goals we need EVERYONE to begin the work of laying a solid foundaiton for the future. Lets Go Warriors!
Our off-season schedule-
November 7-11 No lift Period.
November 15 (and 16 if necessary) - will be test days for all players. We will find a strength baseline for push-ups, pull-ups and leg press for repetitions. we will lift on November 16, 17 and 18, concentrating on lift techniques.
November 28 - winter lifting begins
We lift Monday thru Thursday. We start at 3:20 in the weight room. The workouts last approximately 70 minutes.
We lift in 4-week cycles and our programs are designed by Steve Saunders, owner of Power Train. His clients include James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Paul Ibanez of the Phillies. we are extremely fortunate to have this program and we thank the WFPA for their financial support.
Winter Athletes - the weight room is open 3 mornings a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:45 - 7:00 for athletes who desire to continue lifting during a winter sports season. You need permission from your winter sport coach to lift with us, but we encourage your attendance.
November 30 - Morning lifting will begin.
During the winter lifting cycle, we will occasionally have team building activities. These will be posted in the weight room. In the past we have had bowling night, as well as dinner together.
June 28 -July 7 We will have a "quiet period" for all football training during the summer. During this time, we will not meet as a team or lift.
We look forward to our time together. If there are any questions, please contact me at 665-7646- home or 413-3608 cell.
Thank you,
Coach Locker
