WFC Rangers GU18 GOLD:Our Coaches
Wednesday, April 4
Jason Conway - Coach
Jason has coached in the WFC Rangers Program for 11 years. He has had two teams in that time and taken both all the way through graduation. He has his "C" coaching license. Being born in Dublin, Ireland, Jason played most of his club soccer there for three different teams - Bluebell United, St. Patricks Athletic and Shamrock Rovers starting at age 7 and three years in England. Jason moved to the United States when he was 20 and first lived in Spokane. He played for S.F.C.C. and also played on the Spokane Shadow travelling team. While there he began coaching with two high school teams. In 1996 Jason moved to Bellingham and two months later started coaching in the Rangers Program. Jason took both of his previous teams to Ireland, England and Scotland. This was definitely an amazing and valuable experience for the team, as well as, for Jason.

When Jason has free time he enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, lots of reading and the general worship of the Irish National Soccer Team and Manchester United.

Jason is very excited to begin with this team as it is his first experience with such a dynamic group of girls. He has coached girls before but only three or four at a time. Jason say the good news is "It's soccer", no matter boys or girls. He is excited to get this team high up the league in P3 and develop what they already have learned. All of his coaching is based on Discipline, hard work and a total understanding of the game of soccer. He works hard in everything he does and and hope the players do as well.

Justin Nelson - Assistant Coach
Justin was born and raised in Bellingham, WA. where he graduated from Squalicum High School in 2002 and is currently working toward an Elementary Education Degree at Western Washington University.

Justin has played soccer all his life and played for the Rangers program for six years, five of them being under Jason. Playing for Jason, Justin served as a captain of the team, went to Ireland, England, and Scotland, and most importantly gained great leadership and soccer knowledge. Justin also played for the Squalicum High School team for four years where his senior year the team made it to the 3A State Finals.

Justin enjoys spending his free time hanging out with friends, playing sports, and learning how to cook with his girlfriend. He is also looking forward to his new task of being assistant coach for what it looks like, a very talented team. Justin hopes to learn more from Jason and help make each individual a better soccer player. He hopes this will be a great stepping stone to the beginning of Justin's coaching career.
