Westport Babe Ruth: Fall Tryout Guideline

On September 12, WBRL will be holding its annual Fall tryout for the 2013season.

Please be ready to catch, throw and run. Players should bring their glove and dress for practice. Players may leave after they have tried out. 

The following are leagues a player may play in based on their 2013 age. Ages are dependent on what age you will be May 1 2013.

4          TBall (No Tryout)

5          TBall (No Tryout)

6          TBall or Rookie (Parent choice, No Tryout)

7          Rookie (No Tryout).

If you want to try out for minor’s and enter the 2013 draft you will not tryout in the fall. To participate in the winter tryout you will need to attend a February board of directors meeting and get board approval. 

8          Rookie or Minor. If you played in Minors as a "7" you will remain with the same team as 2012 and you do not need to tryout. If you were in Rookie and you want to tryout for Minor's, you may tryout. You must try out to be drafted into Minors. If you do not tryout, you will not be drafted and will automatically be in Rookie. Even if you tryout you may not be drafted.

9          Minor. If you were in Rookie, you must try out for Minors and you will be drafted. If you do not tryout you will be ineligible to play in 2013.

            If you were in Minors in 2012, you do not need to tryout and will remain with the same team.

10        Minor or Major. You must try out. Even if you tryout you may not be drafted and will remain with your 2012 Minor team. 

11        Minor or Major. You must tryout if you were in Minors in 2012.  If you do not tryout you will be ineligible to play in 2013. Even if you tryout you may not be drafted and will remain with your 2012 Minor team. If you were in Majors, you do not need to tryout and will remain with your 2012 Major team.

12        Minor or Major. You must tryout if you were in Minors in 2012.  If you do not tryout you will be ineligible to play in 2012. You may remain in Minors with approval of Player Agent. Please contact Player Agent, Chuck Wardwell (xwcw@aol.com) for more details. If you were in Majors, you do not need to tryout and will remain with your 2012 Major team.

13-15   Seniors. You must tryout unless you were with a Senior team in 2012. You may not be drafted.
