Volleystrong Tryout Information

• Tryouts are open to any child that wants to attend.  The cost of the tryout is $10 per player. 
• Cost for Volleystrong for this season is $950 per player. 
• Please do not tryout for a team unless you are prepared to sign a Letter of Intent and put down a 50% deposit if selected on a team.  The Volleystrong staff will be available with questions prior to team selections if you have any questions or concerns. 
• Teams will have 9-10 players
• Tryouts will be at The Digz and be as follows: 

 Saturday, November 7th, 2009:
14U:  8:00am
13U:  10:00am
12U:  1:00pm

Saturday, November 21, 2009:
15U:  1:00pm  

Please remember that each player MUST be a registered USA Volleyball member or she cannot tryout.  There will be a short parent meeting and then the tryout.  Please remember that each player MUST be a registered USA Volleyball member or she cannot tryout.

• Prior to trying out, YOU MUST go to www.gpvb.org and register your child on the site.  Simply click on "Online registration."  Instructions are on the Great Plains site.  You cannot be selected by any club unless you are pre-registered.  Any questions about registration, call the Great Plains office at 402-593-9670.


• There will be a 15 minute parents meeting before the tryout for players and parents to ask questions and for the Club Director to talk briefly about the club and explain the tryout.  Please take the time to ask questions if you are unsure of anything. 


• Players will be tested on overall volleyball skills (passing, setting, hitting, defense), knowledge of the game, athletic ability (jumping, speed, foot quickness) and players that we think would be a good fit for our organization. 
• Each Volleystrong team will play the majority of their tournaments in the Omaha/Lincoln area and attend one of the Qualifiers for Nationals. 
• I generally prefer that parents wait in the resteraunt area at Digz. 
• We will make decisions the day of the tryout.  
• If your child is selected to play on a Volleystrong team, a 50% deposit is required at that time (the remaining balance will be due on November 25th for 12s-15s and December 2nd for 15s), all forms required by Great Plains, including a Junior Letter of Intent Form, and a Volleystrong information sheet that will tell us a little about the player and family.
