The 4th Annual Victor Cheer Classic will be held Saturday, January 5th, 2008.
Tournament Size: 50 team maximum
Order of Events:
10:00-10:30am Competing Modified, Freshman, and JV teams arrive. Warm-Up.
10:45 am Coaches Meeting
11:00am Individual and Doubles competition begins in auxilary gym.
Junior/Seniors compete in the order their Varsity team appears,
11 - 2pm.
11:00-1:00pm Mod/Frosh/JV Championship begins.
1:00-1:30pm Competing Varsity teams warm-up.
1:30-3:30pm Varsity Championship begins
3:30pm Finals: Top 7 JR/Sr Individuals and top 5 doubles compete in main gym.
4:00-4:30pm Awards Ceremony. Dismissal.
*If we have a large number of teams register, we will rework the schedule and have awards for mod/fresh/jv teams before the varsity divisions. I will send out the new schedule on December 10th if need be.*
Performance Requirements:
- Team routines must consist of a POSITIVE CHEER AND DANCE portion with a team jump, partner stunt and gymnastic skill performed. (Approximately 2 1/2 minutes).
- Junior/Senior Individual routines must be a CHEER AND DANCE routine containing two DIFFERENT jumps and one gymnastic skill. (Approximately 1 1/2 minutes).
- Doubles routines must be a CHEER AND DANCE routine containing two DIFFERENT synchronized jumps, one gymnastic skill perofmred by one or both, and a stunt. Open to all grades 9 - 12. (Approximately 1 1/2 minutes).
Judges/Safety Regulations/Divisions
- Judges will be staff members of UCA, College and/or qualified Section V Coaches.
- Teams that do not follow section V safety regulations will receive a warning.
- Divisions will be determined according to team size. (Approx. 5 - 7 teams per division or smaller).
- Divisions/Performance Order will be e-mailed to choaches Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008.
- There will be a cheer mat provided. (8 Panels)
Music/Awards/Additional Information
A casette/CD player will be available for all routines behind the judges table. Coach's are responsible for the start and stop of music. 1st - 3rd place trophies will be given for each division. Locker rooms will be provided for competing teams. PLEASE leave all valueables at home! We will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. T-shirts, shorts and other cheer merchandise will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be sold. Spectators are welcome. $5.00 Adult, $4.00 Seniors, Children 5 and under admitted free.
Directions
Take Rt 96 East into Victor. At a traffic light, turn right onto High St. The campus is one mile up the hill on the right.
