Opening Day festivities will start at 11am this Saturday at the Complex. Players should dress in their team uniforms. Teams will be announced and walk onto Lund field as a part of the ceremony. Players should arrive at 10:30am and find their coaches and teammates. Teams will line up around the Complex building by 10:45am. When our main parking lot is full, park along Hometown Circle, the street in front of Farm & Fleet.
Don't forget the news item below from our president, Rob Hano, about players sending him their thoughts on what VLL means. Rob would like to incorporate some of these into the ceremony.

Both events are fundraisers for VLL in addition to being great social outings. Invite friends and family! Brewers Night includes a fantastic opportunity for our players to walk around the field at Miller Park with Little Leaguers from all over the state before the game. Bring the cameras!

To All Verona Little League Players
Dear Verona Little Leaguer,
Every year, during the Opening Day Ceremony, we talk about the league and what it means to the players, coaches, parents, and board members. There is talk of the past season and our hopes for the season that is about to begin. But we never hear from the players themselves. We don't hear about your experiences from your own unique point of view. We don't hear about what Verona Little League means to you, in your own words.
This year, I am asking you to write a paragraph or two about the league and what it has meant to you. It could be about a specific experience or the season as a whole. You can note whether you would like your name mentioned as part of the reading or if you prefer to be anonymous. A committee will review all of the submissions and select a few to read during the Opening Day Ceremony. Please email all submissions to vllpresident@gmail.com. I would ask everyone to keep in mind that we will only have time to read a few but we will be posting all of them on the concession stand bulletin boards for the Verona Little League community to see.
Looking forward to Opening Day,
Rob Hano
VLL President

VLL Calendars
You can now add VLL events and schedules to your personal calendar. Add a new subscription in your calendar application and copy/paste one of these URLs. They are published in the standard iCalendar format.
We include two links for each calendar: the first has no time zone attached, and the second has CST attached. Different calendar applications work better with one or the other. Google calendar works best with the time zone. Mac and iOS seem to work better without the time zone, but it may depend on your calendar settings.
