I would like to make mention that, with the fantastic come-from-behind victory in the final game of the 2009 City Cup Minors Division, our Masonic Lodge Team not only won the Championship title but did it with an undefeated 20-0 record for the entire season!!!

As a grandparent of one of the team members, I feel that it should not go unnoticed that the exceptional coaching style of Rob Donafrio, along with the sense of unity and respect shown to, and therefore from, our boys, throughout the entire season, surely contributed greatly to the incredible success of this team! This has proven to those of us who've watched this amazing season from start to finish what is possible when kids are motivated in positive ways and are given real-life examples every day of how right attitude, respect, and perseverance can create milestones in one's life!

Congratulations (AND A HUGE THANK YOU!) to the Entire Staff of Our Masonic Lodge Team!!!

Go Venice!   Baseball has such great memories. One of my best players was a 12 year old pitcher I had back in the 1980's who would take a miniature 'GI Joe' action figure to the mound and place it next to his feet when he pitched (for good luck I suppose--we did win a title that year). But the weird part is that the other teams just laughed. Nobody ever complained about the toy.

Have a terrific season!
Best regards from Rick Fishman, author of Sandlot Summit, the funniest youth baseball story ever.
