It is located on the eastern side of the campus just north of the football stadium. Parking is available in the southern lot off of Victory Bl. or the northern lot from Balboa Bl. How Much Does It Cost?

The tryouts are free. (What nice people!) The first month (December) will be $525 with 5 monthly payments of $175 (January through May). The total cost is $1,400. When you consider that this is an 8 month activity that meets 2 to 3 times weekly with 16 or more tournament dates, the cost is UNDER $19 per day.

We also offer a $60 discount for early enrollment if you are able to make a lump sum payment of $1,340 by December 18, 2010.

This club runs just a little above our basic expenses. We play in all of the same tournaments as the high priced clubs but don't worry, they can't hit you with their wallets! Many other clubs charge WAY more money for the same service ranging from $3000 to $6000 or more for membership.

Sunday, October 17
What Do The Payments Cover?
All tournament registration fees (approximately 16 dates in all), approximately 60 supervised practices, individual and team USA Volleyball/SCVA memberships (which includes liability and excess medical insurance), a complete uniform, gym rentals, medical supplies, postage, printing, club website (www.eteamz.com/ValleyOaksVolleyballClub), volleyballs, ballbags, trophies, and coaching. WHAT A DEAL!

Sunday, October 17
Are There Any Other Possible Costs Involved?
Yes, special tournaments out of the Southern California area (such as Las Vegas Tournament or the Volleyball Festival in Phoenix), and any lodging and/or van rentals required for any tournament cost extra. This is a possible but not a probable cost. Any additional tournaments depend upon the financial resources of our members.

Sunday, October 17
What Does The Uniform Consist Of?
The basic uniform consists of a numbered and screened jersey, shorts, kneepads, 2 practice T-shirts, a travel bag, and warmups. All are included in the payment price. We always look GOOD!

How Long Is The Valley Oaks Volleyball Club Season?

The tryouts for the SCVA Junior Olympic season start in November of 2010 but the season end sin June of 2011. We play a lot of volleyball! In past seasons we have played in up to 18 dates with over 50 matches and 122 games for our 18-and-under teams.

If there are ever conflicts with a school sport or event our policy has ALWAYS been: DO THE SCHOOL'S GAME OR EVENT!!!! That's WAY more important! The reason you're here with us is so that you can be better for your school team!

How Often, When, And Where Do The Valley Oaks Practice?
We will usually practice twice weekly. Right now it looks like we will play Thursday evenings from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM and Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 or 4:00 PM at Birmingham CCHS in Lake Balboa. The exact dates and info are always pending permit approval and will be posted on the website in the Calendar and Practices tabs (www.eteamz.com/ValleyOaksVolleyballClub).

How Often And Where Are The Tournaments?

Be prepared to drive and/or carpool! Tournaments are usually held two or more times per month on weekends. The sites are usually within a drive of an hour and a half ranging anywhere from Torrance to San Diego. Most of them will likely be in Anaheim. Yup, SCVA considers these LOCAL tournaments but you must bear in mind that we are in the same region as teams from Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, and San Diego! They REALLY have to get up early to roll in the mornings so our travel times aren't so bad!

The sites are set up by team divisional rankings, not the club's geographical location. SCVA determines the sites and notifies the individual clubs approximately 4 days in advance. The exact information will appear on both our website and SCVA's. Check our links to see the SCVA website.

SCVA Volleyball Tryout Date Guidelines

We've just received an update about tryout date guidelines from the SCVA. In the letter they acknowledged that some clubs do not cooperate with the requested dates. These dates are in effect in order to give everybody a chance to make a smart and informed decision about club volleyball.

These are the earliest dates ANY club may conduct tryouts :

Girls 14 and under, October 1, 2010.

Girls 16 and under, November 7, 2010.

Girls 18 and under, November 14, 2010.

The earliest committment dates to make ANY payment and sign up with a club are:

Girls 14 and under, October 11, 2010.

Girls 16 and under, November 15, 2010.

Girls 18 and under, November 22, 2010.

The Valley Oaks Volleyball Club will be in full compliance with all SCVA requirements. Please don't be buffaloed or pressured into expensive and unethical decisions by other clubs. Again the entire staff of the Valley Oaks looks forward to meeting you and your daughters at our upcoming tryouts. Check back on the site for developing details.
