PLEASE JOIN US @ ADAMS PARK ON MAY 6, 2012 @ 10:00 am FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL CHALLENGE AND HOMERUN DERBY!!!! YES WE WILL BE HAVING THE HOMERUN DERBY AND WE EXPECT BIG BIG BOMBS TO BE HIT, AND FINALLY WE WILL SETTLE THE QUESTION WHO IS VALLEY'S HOMERUN KING FOR 2012?? THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT AND THAT IS BY JOINING US ON THE 6TH!! baseball challenge and hr derby are courtesy and sponsored by COSTA AZUL FAMILY RESTAURANT.  

"We have received a number of reports concerning leagues that have shortened their pitching distances from the regulation and required 46 feet at the Little League (minor and major) levels of play.  Due to safety and liability concerns, we never waive the 46 foot regulation pitching distance and no player can ever pitch from less than that distance.  The argument is that the younger players cannot consistently throw strikes from 46 feet but if that is the argument then the counter is then how can we expect those players to be developed enough to get out of the way of a batted ball or thrown bat at an even closer distance.  We offer machine pitch and coach pitch as an alternative but not a modified pitching distance for the players.  Please get with all your league immediately to make sure they are not in violation of this requirement.  Should an injury occur under this circumstance, every involved adult would be subject to a punitive penalty with no insurance coverage."
