VASL: VASL News
Friday, August 8Men's VASL All-Stars Take On Vermont Voltage Wednesday, August 13th!
On Wednesday, August 13th, a select men's team from the VASL will take on the Vermont Voltage at Collins Perely Sports Complex in St. Albans 7:30 kick-off. The Vermont Voltage are Vermont's semi-professional soccer team and among the top organizations in the United Soccer League's Premier Development League. This match should attract around 2000 fans. The Voltage provide a terrific professional soccer atmosphere complete with sparky the dog (mascot), the sparkettes (female dance squad), music, announcers, promotional giveaways, radio, public television, etc...
The VASL team will be coached Dustin Corrigan, coach of the 2008 Men's VASL Champions Addison United. Players prospected to play will recieve an e-mail from Dustin and will need to reply by Saturday night. The final team will be selected by Dustin and a small committee of VASL board members. Players selected will recieve an e-mail notice from Dustin on Sunday night and will need to reply to confirm and arrive at Collins Perely before 6:00 on Wednesday with their own white soccer socks. Shorts and Jerseys will be provided. This process has been put in place to select the VASL team as the previous all-star team selected will not have enough players to beat the Voltage as so many of the players will already be gone for their college preseasons. We believe this process will give us the best possible side given the date of the match and small time frame.
Thanks to all our members for a great 2008 season. Please come to this final match and support our VASL team!
-Dustin Corrigan

Men's Final Moved to SMC Turf Field
Tonight's men's final has been moved from the Tree Farm Rec. Facility in Essex to the Turf soccer field at Saint Michael's College Doc Jacob's Sport Complex. Direction to the SMC turf field can be found at http://www.eteamz.com/VASL/locations/. The men's VASL league has been plagued in the later part of the season with rained out games and teams are now struggling for numbers as players are leaving for their college preseasons. This change is to ensure the match will not be postponed due to standing water and hopefully avoid the need to reschedule. Good luck to both Addison United Men and Capital Men in tonight's championship match!
