Upward is an international non-profit organization that had over 500,000 children involved in the program worldwide last year and has been around more than 10 years (see Upward.org for background and history).

UPWARD PROMOTES CHARACTER AND SELF-ESTEEM IN EVERY CHILD

Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities

Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week

Implementing a substitution system for each team, allowing every child equal playing time

Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game
Today's sports culture has created a "win at all cost" mentality. However,Upward defines winning as learning and/or teaching lessions in the game of life. The emphasis is placed on having fun and good sportsmanship.

ABOUT US
Go Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is part of the international Upward Organization (Upward.org). Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is a joint effort between First United Methodist Church (FUMC), Mimosa Lane Baptist Church (MLBC), and Calvary First Baptist Church(CFBC). This past season (2010-2011), we had over 350 Kindergarten through 6th Grade Boys/Girls participate!

REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Here are the ways to register for Upward:
Online registration at this site for basketball and cheerleading in the fall has about a $88 registration fee ($3 online fee). You will be given the opportunity to purchase magazines at up to 80% off the news stand price and 40% will be donated to the Upward program! You can print out a copy of the registration form at this site (click the forms tap) or pick up a brochure at MLBC, FUMC,CFBC, and FBCS . For Basketball and Cheerleading in the fall, mail it in to the address on the left or drop it off at MLBC or FUMC (click locations tab) along with your $85 check or money order.
For Soccer in the spring, mail the Soccer registration form to FBCS at 3018 N. Beltline Rd. Sunnyvale, Texas 75182.

Follow this link to register for the 2011-2012 Upward basketball and Cheerleading season.
Register fee online before October 12th is about $88
From October 13th through the final day of evaluations on Octoer 24th the fee will be about $108.
Don't forget to attend the required EVALUATIONS and uniform fitting (and last chance to register) on Saturday October 22nd, from 9am to 3pm or on Monday October 24th from 6pm-8pm.
