Thunder never trailed after two first inning home runs, and a late rally fell short as the UD dropped their season opener, 27-21.

The team rust from a 5 month layoff showed early as Unnatural Disasters made 6 errors in the first inning, an inning which saw Thunder score 13 runs and never look back. 

"That inning can't happen. I mean, if you look up the definition of 'one bad inning', there's your entry right there." said team captain Vito Abbinante.  "We kicked a few balls, threw a few away, I looked like Rick Vaughn giving up bombs that haven't landed yet...both to the same guy. That can't happen. Just sloppy all around."

Tommy Stukel followed up with, "Shut the *** up, we all sucked. It's not just about you, ***.", further showing what a close knit group UD has become. The Team Quote Machine then finished the night with the gem, "I'd suck a black man's ass", effectively summing up the feelings of the entire team.

Following the disastrous start, UD settled down and scored 11 runs between the 1st and 2nd innings, nearly hitting around in each.  Solid offensive performances by Marcel, Greg, and a 2 homer game by Mike kept the score close, but in the end, the 13 run first proved to be too much.
