Ronald J. Real
Nov. 1, 1937 – June 10, 2008

Ronald J. Real, 70, of Sarasota, Florida - formerly of Elmhurst, IL died June 10, 2008 in his home surrounded by his family.

Services are being arranged to be held in Elmhurst, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Cecilia (nee Sieroslawski). Seven children, Sherry (Rick) Davies, Rory (Kathy) Real, Ronda Real, Roxanne (Tom) Knapp, Rae Ellen Pugliese, Mike (Pam) Real, and Russ (Rachael) Real. Twelve grandchildren, Jolie (Matt), Brittany, Talia, Parker, Riley, McKall, Taylor, Brady, Payton, Landon, Carson & Trevor.

Ron was a dear Brother- in- law to Gloria Pasik, Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Devoted friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Loretta Real. Sisters, LaVerne Malone & Shirley Ruess. His best friend and brother-in-law Donald Pasik.

Ron was the President of the American Football Association (AFA), and also the President of the Lido Ambassador Condominium Association where he resided.

The AFA was founded in 1980 by Ronald J. Real under the name Minor Professional Football Association (MPFA). Real dedicated his life to the advancement of semi-pro football, and today the American Football Association is in its 29th year of service as the national association for semi-pro/minor league football organizations. It provides services to approximately 800 teams in 62 different leagues, covering 47 states plus the District of Columbia. There are some 75,000 active football players, coaches, administrators, trainers, officials, and even cheerleaders participating annually in this level of sport.

2007 USFA Tournament Outline

National Football Events is pleased to announce it will be offering 4 regional football tournaments this year. The winner of these regional tournaments will have the opportunity to play for the 19th Annual USFA National Championship.

The Regional Tournaments are:
USFA Midwest Football Tournament
USFA Harvest Bowl
USFA Southeast Football Tournament
USFA Metro Bowl

In addition to the USFA Tournament, National Football Events will offer the 11th Annual Mid States Football Tournament.

Champions of any of the above tournaments will also receive an invitation to National Football Events' National Bowl Weekend,which will be held in Fort Pierce, Florida on January 19-20, 2008.

2007 USFA Metro Bowl Announcement

METRO BOWL, USFA & NATIONAL FOOTBALL EVENTS

National Football Events is pleased to announce that the Metro Bowl has become a member of the USFA National Championship Series. This quality regional tournament will be known as the USFA Metro Bowl.

Charles McGill and Bill Simo are founders of the Metro Bowl. They will continue as directors along with current board members John Shishowsky and Shawn Spencer, who will be assisted by the National Football Events staff.

The winner of the USFA Metro Bowl will receive an invitation to a National Championship Game on National Bowl Weekend in Fort Pierce, Florida.

The USFA Metro Bowl will be available to all quality teams in the Mid Atlantic Region.

2007 USFA Harvest Bowl Announcement

HARVEST BOWL, USFA & NATIONAL FOOTBALL EVENTS

National Football Events is pleased to announce the merger of the Harvest Bowl and the USFA Northeast Football Tournament. The new name for the most prestigious Regional Tournament in the country will be known as the USFA Harvest Bowl.

The directors of the USFA Harvest Bowl will continue to be Jim Baker (Harvest Bowl), Tony Baccale (Garden State Football League) and Tom Torrisi (New England Football League). They will be assisted by the staff at National Football Events.

National Football Events guarantees the USFA Harvest Bowl winner a birth in the National Championship Game. The USFA Harvest Bowl will be available to all quality teams in the Northeast.
