Knights open spring training schedule with a win over Caribbean Reds 6-4



The Knights picked up right where they left off last season as they opened up their spring training schedule with a win over the Caribbean Reds by the score of 6-4. The defending 3 time Mel Ott/Duke Snider champions looked impressive on the field and on the offensive side.

Dave Jiminian made his Union Knights debut pitching  3 scoreless innings and showed why he was a very valuable pickup for the Knights this offseason.

Knights ink HOF Pitcher Dave Jiminian!!

The Knights bolstered their starting rotation as they signed RHP Dave Jiminian to a long term deal. Jiminian will immediately make an impact sliding into a rotation already lead by ace pitcher Sean Abate and former Cy Young award winner Valentin Robinson. The Knights would like to welcome Dave aboard!!!

Knights interested in former Wake Forest pitcher Souders!
The Knights will hold a private workout for Wake Forest alumni pitcher Sean Souders next week, in hopes that the crafty left hander will help the Knights at the back end of the rotation and out of the bullpen.

UNION KNIGHTS WIN BACK TO BACK MEL OTT CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

The Union Knights won their second Mel Ott league championship by defeating the Jersey Barons two games to one in the finals. This is the 3rd spring championship in the history of the franchise, with the other being won in 2004 (Roy Campanella AAA) & 2009(Mel Ott). The Knights are very proud of this accomplishment, knowing full well that the competition in this league gets tougher every year. Congratulations, boys! Knights first!!!
