Welcome to the home of the Union Knights Baseball Club on the Internet. Original Knights Captain Brian Cannici, had done an excellent job of designing this site and has passed it off to Knights General Manager Armando Diaz Jr. I’m positive that it will serve as a source of pride as well as amusement for the team for years to come.
It’s hard to believe that 2013 will be our 13th year of competition. The last 12 years were spent in Mitch Miles ABLNJ and now the team has packed its bags are headed to the NJABL(www.newjerseyabl.com) in its inaugral season. Some of our accolades during the past years include:
* 20 post-season appearances, and five championships (Fall 2003, Spring 2004, Spring 2009, Spring 2010 & Spring 2011).
But these things are not what make the Knights great. The greatness of this team stems from the common bonds we share: Friendship and a love and respect for the game. There are not many teams which existed in our inaugural season that are still around today. Even fewer are the teams that have been around as long as our team and have been consistently successful. To me, that speaks volumes about how special this squad is. I am very proud of what we have accomplished and I am proud to be a part of this team.
Manager, Union Knights
The Union Knights are proud to announce that Motor City Inc in Newark New Jersey will be their new team sponsor for the 2013 season. Anyone in need of great auto body work should go see these guys and ask for Mario Branco(General Manager) or Manny Costeira(Owner). Tell them the Union Knights sent you....
The Knights would like to once again thank Mario and Manny on their generous donation towards the team's expenses. We greatly appreciate it..

The Knights ended a busy week of roster moves with 4 key signings for their 2013 roster. Knights General Manager Armando Diaz Jr knew he had alot of work ahead of him heading into the offseason after several departures. Most notibly being aces Sean Abate who signed with the Cabo Kings of the Pacific Coast Baseball League, and Dave Jiminian who was placed on the indefinate bevearement list as he journeys to Miami Florida. Diaz was able to sign highly scouted ESU pitcher John Grilo earlier in the offseason but fell short in aquiring pitcher James Cariello & Utility player Chris Lepore of the Ridgefield Park Warriors as well as former Knight and NJ Jackals pitcher Jairo Mendez.
With the free agent market looking thin and the Knights controlled payroll they were able to free up additional roster spots when long time Knights utility player Eli Siebert signed with his hometown Montclair Bulldogs and Gus Silva rejoined the Caribbean Reds team. The Knights first order of business of the week was the signing of former Newark Bears pitcher Trevor Marcotte to a one year deal. Following the Marcotte signing Diaz and the Knights finalized a 2 week team tryout with the signing of former Lehman College catcher Mike Fikaris, 2010 Union City High School standout outfielder/infielder Jeremy Rivera and former County Prep shortstop/pitcher Jorge Alejandro.
The Knights have been rumored to be courting long time Englewood Marauders shortstop Miguel Checo, Hackensack Throast setup man Mario Sencion, and NJ Indians flame thrower Mark Medal Jr.. Only time will tell if Diaz will pull the trigger on any of these additional moves.. Stay tuned for more...
