ULTIMATE G93, 2009-2010 USC Goalies are the BEST While the rest of the team got the day off from practice due to the rain, Jose and the three Ultimate goalies had another thing in mind as they prepared themselves for next weekend's College Showcase in Temecula. Thanks to the girls and to Jose for showing this great commitment to the team and to your coaches. Fight On!
USC wins Condors Classic with dominant performance Hoping to get a bit of revenge on the pesky Condors team that gave us fits in CCSL, the USC girls prepared very well in December for the Condors Classic on Jan. 3-4, 2009. With two of the tougher teams scheduled for Saturday, USC came out and beat SBSC 2-1 and then pounded the Condors on their home turf, 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. Sunday's games allowed us to play many players in different position and we loved seeing Karianne Laplante score her first goal with the team Sunday afternoon. With wins of 4-0 over the other second Condors team and 6-1 over the Orcutt Inferno, the Ultimate G94 team made it 3 Championships in a row and 4 out of 6 since August. Dana Bouquet continued her great performance in net, allowing only one goal during the weekend and Carly Koertge had a great weekend, leading all players in scoring. The team is moving forward nicely and we are looking forward to Anaheim later this month and the highly competitive Temecula College Showcase in February. Fight on!
Ultimate Girls bring home Championship in Central Cal Invitational Travelling for the first time to Northern California, USC went to Clovis on Dec. 13-14, 2008 for the Central Cal Invitational. Playing quality teams from Northern Cal was the reason for the trip and bringing home the Championship was a great accomplishment for the USC girls. After losing their first game 0-1 to Diablo FC, the team came back for three straight 1-0 victories, with goals by Abby Clement, Ivy Diego and Tawny Newberry. Our Championship game vs. Diablo FC was especially sweet, since they had beat us on Saturday morning. Nice job ladies and a big "FIGHT ON" to goalie Dana Bouquet as she has allowed only two goals in two tournaments, both resulting in Championships!
November Classic CHAMPS USC outscored their opponents 19-1 in Bakerfield over the November 15-16 weekend and continued to show that they are the team to beat, in ANY tournament. Great job players and coaches! Monday, November 17
Finalist in Santa Barbara August 2008 USC drove the hour south to play in the Santa Barbara Summer Cup and made it a successful weekend. The competition was very good and every game we played was intense and close to the end. The Championship game was a scoreless match to OT vs. North County Pacific Pride, a very physical and talented team from the Brea area. They had beat us 2-0 on Saturday and we pushed them to double OT in the Championship game. A bouncing ball in the box was tapped in by NCP and they were crowned Champions. No disappointment in the USC camp, as the girls proved once again that they have guts and can beat anyone on any day. A finalist trophy was presented and we also had a nice photo taken by SBSC. Thanks to SB for a fine tournament.
Thousand Oaks Championship
August 2008 USC got off on the right track, winning the Thousand Oaks Classic over Real California in OT and getting Gabe Velasco his first championship as Head Coach. A late goal in OT by Carly Koertge was the deciding goal and the girls were both proud and excited for Gabe and the team. |
