Team Goals
? Teach the players good sportsmanship lets win graciously and lose respectfully.
? Concentrate on teaching hockey skills and fundamentals on and off the ice.
? Hockey is a team Sport, We will reinforce the importance of a teamwork environment.
? Teach players to respect and thank teammates for assist, setting up plays, and defensive plays. Its not always about who scores the goals that’s most important.
? Teach the important of communication between other players and the coaches.
? Have as much fun as possible, lets not forget about why our kids are here.
Team Rules
The Team rules have been developed with the intent to make this season’s hockey experience more educational and enjoyable for all of the players and their parents. The following items will not be tolerated and offenders will be benched for a time period set by any of the coaches depending on the severity of the infraction.
1. Poor sportsmanship (Including Bragging, Trash Talking, and Foul Language)
2. Dirty play
3. Wasting time on the bench or during practice.
4. Disrespect during coaches chalk talk or pre/post game meeting.
5. Disrespect of teammates, coaches, other teams, referees and the ice rink facility.
6. Individual play (One Way Hockey)
7. Lack of effort
8. Fighting during a game can result in a five day suspension from school and hockey
9. Academics - Students must be passing 5 out of 6 classes to participate on team
10. Players that continue to get cheap penalties game after game
(This limits other player’s ice time, effects the Lines, and the flow of the game)
General Rules
? Players should be dressed and ready to go 10 Minutes before practice and 20 Minutes before games. This will allow for pre practice or pre game discussions. Players should be at the rink 1 hr before game time.
? Pre game talks are most important allowing players to learn about mistakes from previous game, positioning, team play, and other important hockey fundamentals. Players undivided attention is required at this time. No Cell Phones, or I Pods
? Coaches and Players Only in the locker room during the time periods stated above.
? Please notify Tim Mulcahy at 248-608-2933, or work 248-568-6767 at the earliest time if a player will be missing a practice or game.
? If there are any concerns or issues, I would like to work it out with the players first. If a parent feels the need to contact me, I ask that you contact me 24 hours after a game.
? I ask that United families follow the Team rules with regards to respecting other teams, referees, coaches and other families within our own team.
