UMBA: Welcome
The Upper Merion Baseball Association (UMBA) is an all-volunteer organization providing T-Ball for children ages 5 & 6, Boys Baseball through age 15, and Girls Softball through age 16.This is the 13th year UMBA offers a Challenger team to our community. This division provides boys and girls ages 6 to 18 who are mentally and physically challenged, the opportunity to play baseball.
We continue to sponsor Junior Legion Baseball including a 13 year old prep league.

Opps! The yearly mailing was sent without the registration form. Registration forms will be available in the elementry school weekly folders, at the Park and Rec office or can be downloaded from this site Remember you must register in person. Mailed registrations will not be accepted.
The 2010 UMBA Season is officially underway. Registration will again be held at the Walker field TAC house. Participants will be accepted in numerical order of registration. We may have to limit the number of participants in a division due to the availability of managers and umpires, so we suggest you register early. Please refer to the “dates to remember” for registration dates and times and additional dates for this season’s events. If you have any questions or need directions we can be reached at 610-265-4477, or at individual Board members phone numbers provided at the end of this letter.
The following divisions are closed as of February 17th -Tball and Boys Majors . Names will be placed on a wait list, in case there is an opening.
Please note:
1. Please read the Registration Letter and use the Registration Form in the attachments.
2. No registrations can be accepted by mail or without a parent/guardian’s signature.
3. Evaluations are required for new registers(minors and above) and players moving from Rookies to Minors in softball and baseball.
Player Evaluations - Thursday, February 18th – 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring sneakers and glove.

This will be the second season that all Baseball and Softball managers/coaches in the minor and major divisions be required to be certified through the Riken coaching website. Go to : www.ripkencoaching.org to get the certification.There is a small fee. The certification is valid as long as you remain a coach in the Cal Ripken baseball or Babe Ruth Softball. This is mandatory certification required by Babe Ruth corporation.
This year we will host a coaching clinic on Feb 20th 10:00 till 3:00 at the HS Cafeteria. Attendence is mandatory for all managers and coaches.

The Upper Merion Baseball Association is looking forward to an exciting 2010 season! UMBA is a non-profit organization that provides supervised baseball/softball leagues for over 700 boys and girls in King of Prussia and surrounding areas. There are instructional teams for boys and girls that range from T-BalI to the Senior League. The coaches are volunteers from the community and this organization provides a valuable service to all children. There are different levels of sponsorships listed in the applications attached below. Please review each option and select the one that meets your interested. Contributions must be returned by March 1st for options 1 through 4 and May 7th for options 5 through 7. Thank you for your extremely valuable support to this wonderful program.
