Storm forced to Forfeit points after a 2-1 victory.
A great game was to be seen on Sunday as UFC faced a great Storm team.  In the end Storm won 2-1 over UFC. Unfortunately,  the Storm  played a player under 25 for a few minutes during the 1st half that was recognized by the league rep at halftime. Later the league decided that the Storm would have to forfiet the points to United. I'm sure the rematch will be a much anticipated rematch by many! SO with the loss Storm now stands at 1-1-1 and UFC remains undefeated 3-0. Of course UFC players know the outcome wasn't a true win and UFC will have to show up with all players ready to give it their all in the rematch. So for now UFC sits at the top of the league.

UFC loses 2-1 to Nomads.
UFC has had a tough three games losing 2-1 to Storm, 5-3 to Dirt and now losing 2-1 to Nomads. Thanks to Nick for finishing  a lose ball in the box of a cross from shoup in the second half brought UFC to within a goal of getting a tie. If UFC had started the game better we wouldn't have given up a goal in the 2nd minute of the game. Take away that mistake and the cross that the goalie dropped in front of the Nomads 2 yds in front of the goal for them to finish then we would have won. In retrospect we basicly beat ourselves against a solid Nomads team. We can't expect to beat tough teams when we make so many little mistakes.

UFC loses a goalie and the game 1-0 vs. Blazers.
SUndays game was just another game of unfortunate events for the UFC soccer team. After about 5 minutes into the game Roy Ek came out to make a save on a lose ball infront of the goal when an on coming Blazer player kicked Roy in the shin. The impact broke Roys ibula and Tibia. After the parametics took Roy of to the hospital the came was resumed. The set back cut into our playing time and the came was shorten to two 25 minute halfs with a 3 minute half time. In the first half the Blazers scored their goal of a deflection. The goal proved to be the only goal of the game. Because of the shorten game the ref called the game just when it seemed like we were getting close to evening up the score. We have now lost 3 in a row. Our record stands at 3-3-0 and we now sit in 5th only 4 points out of first place. The good news is that we just added a new goalie and we are only 4 points out of first place. Remember to keep Roy in your thoughts and prayers.

UFC breaks the three game skid with a 3-0 victory.
Starting the day with an early goal really set the tone for a must win game. About 8 minutes into the game Shoup crossed the ball into the box where Voight made a head flix to Sullivan on the back post for the right footed finish. About 15 minutes late Theo made a drive to the right side of the goal and then slotted a pass back to the top of the 18 where Crilly made a great left footed first time shot that found the lower right side on the goal. With our new keeper Nate Fikse making a couple of saves UFC had a 2-0 lead at the half. The second half looked a lot like the first half with UFC dominating possesion of the ball and putting a lot of pressure on the Old Ship S.A. defense. At about the 75th minute Crilly made a long run down the right side line and made a great cross to the far post where Jeff was waiting to score the header goal for a 3-0 lead. Congrats to Nate for getting his first shutout in goal since high school after making about 4 saves. The win puts us in a tie for second place (4-3).

UFC loses to Arsenal 3-0
It seems to be a recuring problem that UFC can't get enough guys to the game. Against the Arsenal UFC started with only 9 players. Matt Ek had to play in the goal since both of UFC's goalkeepers are hurt. By Halftime UFC had a full squad and the score was all tied up 0-0. Matt did a great job in the goal for us but he couldn't stop all the shots. He did have about 6 good saves. UFC held on tight but fatige seemed to slow us down and Arsenal eventually put 2 goals away and a third one with no time left in the game. If UFC can get a consistent group of players showing up for the remaining games they may have a chance to win league. UFC is only 3 points our of 1st place.

UFC loses close game to Storm 3-2
ANother tough game against the leagues best team proved to much for us as we went down with 8 minutes reamining with a strange PK awarded from a very incompetent ref. The game started of very close with Storm only taking the lead with a goal in the lst 5 minutes of the 1st half by Javier with a very lucky  left footed shot. Javier proved to be the man of the match scoring all 3 goals against us. To bad we couldn't keep him on our team... In the 2nd half Storm scored and went up 2-0 until Darin scored of a great cross from sulli to make the score 2-1. With about 10 minutes left in the game Oz was fouled in the box and SUlli steped up to put the shot in the lower left side of the net to tie the score up at 2 apiece. The tie only lasted about 2 minutes when a phantom pk was awarded to Storm. Javier stepped up to score his 3rd goal and finish us off for good. Next game is against Dirt which lost 1-0 to the last place team and looks primed for another loss.
