The Tuckahoe Youth Association (TYA) is a chartered Babe Ruth Baseball/Softball Program for children ages 4-16 who live in Tuckahoe, Eastchester and Bronxville, New York.

The TYA "regular" season begins in mid-April and runs until the end of June. At the close of the regular season, TYA "select" teams continue to compete in the Babe Ruth (Cal Ripkin Division) District, State and Reginal tournaments. TYA also competes in various local Summer Leagues throughout Westchester and Putnam County.

TYA sign-up takes place in November and December of each year. Roster space is limited and all leagues are populated on a "first come basis". Applications for the Spring season become available the Monday after Thanksgiving at the Tuckahoe Community Center, Tuckahoe Village Hall, Eastchester Town Hall (Rec. Dept.), Bronxville Village Hall, or Handout section on this website.

All games are played at Labriola Field, Burnham Rd. in Eastchester.

TYA has 7 Divisions: Major Baseball for 11 and 12 year olds, Minor Baseball for 9 and 10 year olds, Instructional Baseball for 7 and 8 year olds, Rookie Baseball for 6 year olds, T-ball for 4 & 5 year olds, Major League Girls Softball for 11,12,13,14,15 and 16 year olds and Minor League Girls Softball for 8,9 and 10 year olds.

The Tuckahoe Youth Association was founded in 1959 and provides roughly 500 youth each year with an organized, first class Baseball/Softball program.

About the TYA Uniforms

Uniforms represent TYA's largest annual overhead. Proper care is essential to the longevity of their usage. Each player is responsible for the care of his/her uniform.
Also, please note the following:
At the end of each season, PROMPTLY return shirts and pants to your Team Mom.
All hats, socks and tee shirts (5 & 6, T-ball league and 7 year old, Rookie League) are the players to keep.

TYA makes an effort each year to replace many of its worn out uniforms. This season you'll notice that we've replaced even more than in past years, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE remember that each uniform is the property of TYA, and the care and return of each uniform Is YOUR responsibility.

To prevent damaging the uniform, please refer to the wash care labels - particularly not using liquid bleach on white pants that have colored trim.
*** Failure to properly care for or return your uniform could result in a charge for its cost***
Wearing Your Uniform Properly

All players must wear their team hat correctly in the field, substitute hats are not permitted.
TYA recommends that you PUT YOUR NAME IN YOUR HAT. If you lose your hat, a new one must be purchased for a cost of $8 from TYA (see your coach). Shirts must be tucked into pants.
Stirrup socks are part of the uniform and are required to be worn.
REMEMBER!!RETURN YOUR UNIFORM TO YOUR TEAM MOM IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SEASON. HATS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE, LOST HATS CAN BE REPLACED FOR $8.

TYA Winners In New Rochelle Memorial Day Tournament

TYA defeated New Rochelle to win the Memorial Day championship game held at Pine Brook Field on Sunday, May 30th. Comprised of players from the Major League Baseball division, the team wound up with a 3-1 record over the course of the Memorial Day weekend. Excellent pitching, stellar defense and timely hitting catapulted the team to the championship game. Their only loss was to the very same team they beat 12-4 to win the crown. This marks the second time that a team from TYA has won the championship in this tournament. Congratulations to the team, coaches and parents for a outstanding weekend of baseball! Check out the "Albums" section for more pictures taken at the tournament games.
