Boy Scout Troop 64: Merit Badge Information
The following are the steps to be taken when requesting to participate in a merit badge:
Review the document, "Merit Badge Review" to determine difficulty, suggested completion time frame, and any prerequisites that may apply to the merit badge you are interested in.
After determining if you are eligible and capable of completing the merit badge, print out the appropriate merit badge worksheet and bring it to the Scoutmaster with your request.
Once the Scoutmaster has approved your merit badge participation request, a Blue Card will be generated and you will be directed to the Advancement Chair who will assign you to a Merit Badge Counselor and document your enrollment into the Troopmaster database.
You must contact the assigned Merit Badge Counselor who will guide you throuh the merit badge's completion.
Note: If a Scout is required to meet with a Merit Badge Counselor during occasions other than at planned weekly Troop meetings, it is the responsibility of both the Scout and the Counselor to ensure that the BSA Two-Deep Leadership Policy is adhered to at all times. An no time will an individual Scout meet with a Counselor on a one-on-one basis.
Once you have completed the merit badge, bring the completed and signed Merit Badge Blue Card to the Scoutmaster.

Contact the Troop Librarian with your request.
The Merit Badge Worksheets are to be printed and used when requesting merit badge participation approval and at all times throughout the completion of the merit badge.

Family Group Record Chart (can be used when working on the Genealogy merit badge.)
Genealogy Pedigree Chart (can be used when working on the Genealogy merit badge.)
Fingerprint Card (can be used when working on the Fingerprinting merit badge.)

Merit Badge Books and Resources
Once you've identified the Merit Badge Book or Resource you'd like to check out and verified that it is available, complete the Merit Badge Book and Resource Check-Out Form, print it out and turn it in to the Troop Librarian.
Damaged or lost books/resources are the responsibility of the scout who checked them out. If damaged or lost, other than normal wear and tear, it will have to be replaced with an adequate copy. Please do not write in any of the books or resources.
