TROOP 370

Our mission is to help our scouts grow into fine young men by helping them achieve advancement through the successful and time honored traditions of the Boy Scouts of America. To provide an environment where they will be exposed to and taught self confidence through self reliance, initiative, and community service. To provide an environment where they can have a fun and rewarding experience with memories, skills, and friendships to last a lifetime.

Blue Wolves capture Presidential Ribbon
Scout spirit and scout skills ruled the weekend as The blue wolves patrol along with 3 great webelos competed hard taking 1st place awards in adle-ladle, Flag pole raising, kims game, andremote clove hitch. and capturing 2nd place in flag retirement ceremony, and Rope world. Competitions along with inspection scores added up to a presoidential finish by a mere 2 points. Great job. and we couldnt have done it without our webelos thanks Bradley, Christopher, and Jose.

Memory Gardens
We will again be meeting with T-429 to decorate veterans graves at Memory Gardens Cemetary for Memorial Day. We will place the flags on Sat May 24 (troop t-shirts) And participate in the Memorial Day Ceremony on Mon May 26. (Class A w/Sashes).

Come Join the Campfire

We are hosting a campfire on Tues May 20 starting at 7 PM at our scout room 3950 Clayton Road. Muir district Troops and Packs welcome. Bring a skit and/or song. a chair or blanket. We expect to roast marshmellows/smores. Come for the skit, songs and fellowship.

2 visiting troops and cubs from 3 packs joined us last night for The Campfire. This being our first attempt at hosting a campfire things started out a little rough but things really got rolling by the end of the evening with everyone participating in improv routines, skits and songs. We finished the evening off with smores. I think everyone had a good time and hope to see this a troop tradition.

Pacheco Slough Clean-up May 17th.

May 17 we will be working with the Tesoro Refinery to clean up Pacheco Slough a tidal creek which run on refinery property. most of the work will be done from boats with prizes being awarded for various catagories of refuse. (ie. most balls, strangest item, largest item, etc.) This is definatly Service Hours, and can be applied toward enviromental service project requirement for the 50 miler award.

Troop 370 hereby known as the Gutter Runners arrived at the clean up in high spirits. after an early lunch and safety instructions the Gutter Runners were bummed to find out they were assigned to clean up along waterbird way and not get to go out in the boats. It didn't take long for spirits to pick-up after we started finding some pretty exotic trash along the road. we found everything from an old mattress to a easy chair, TV, suitcase, planters, tires, even a wedding licens. following the cleanup the various teams created an artistic display from the items they Gutter Runners but together a fully furnished Dorm room Vignette. Taking 2nd place in the judging. Thanks to Tesoro and all those who participated in this fun and much needed service project.
