September Committee Meeting Minutes
Hi Everyone,
The September Committee  Meeting was held on 9/11/07. It was really great to see some new faces. Come out some time and let your voice be heard. The following items were discussed:
1.    The 50th Anniversary celebration and Court of Honor will take place on 10/21/07 from 3-6 PM. Please mark your calendar, and forward the names of any former members of troop 321 to either Claire McGarry or Rose Casey.
2.    Kevin Leyland agreed to man the scout table at Back to School Night on 9/12/07.
3.    Transition in adult leadership:
        *    Greg Strupczewski has agreed to assume the position of scoutmaster.  The date is TBA.  (A huge thank you from us all)
        *    Jessica Stickley will assume the position of Committee Chairperson
        *    Ann Slivjak will assume the role of troop Communicator (TY)
        *    Chris Masluk will take responsibility for troop registration (TY)
4.    The next camping trip is 9/21-9/23 at Camp Hart.
5.    The Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for 11/11/07. Mark Grande and Karen Dignetti will coordinate this event.
6.    John Masluk has agreed to coordinate our annual wreath sale. Way to go!!
7.    To lessen the burden of the cost of registration, we will be splitting the cost and collecting $20.00 on 10/15/07 and $20.00 on 1/28/08. You may feel free to pay the entire $40.00 on 10/15/07 if you'd like.
8.    The next election for Order of the Arrow will occur in May,08.
9.    The troop conducted a vote at the scout meeting on 9/10/07 and Treasure Island was unanimously selected for summer camp in 2008.
Hope I got it all. It's been fun...tee hee.... Look for future communications to come from Ann Slivjak in the future.  Thank to everyone for feeding information to me and keeping me on the straight and narrow. Good luck Ann!!
Have a good week.    Jessica

April Committee Meeting Update
To All,

First of all I need a parent (to reply to this E mail to all so I do not have five parents) to come up to Treasure Island early on Sunday to pick up some of our boys to bring them back from camping. We have three parents going on Friday night and Ed will be getting in touch by phone with somebody to go up on Friday night.

We will be meeting Friday at the Scout house @ 4:30 and leaving @ 5:00 because we need to get on a boat to get to TI in the day light.

Also need to have your boys bring $10.00 for food that they should have brought on Monday night.

Next I would like to welcome two new parents Bob Kloter and John Masulk for showing up last night and for taking over the Quarter Master positions. We need more parents to help with this troop and show up once a month for this important meeting. We had Joe Kain give notice that his last meeting will be May and have other long term people talking about giving notice of leaving. We need more parents (as an example above with this coming camping trip) to step up and help or our troop will fade away because of lack of parent interest. I know that everyone have busy lives and the current group of parents (had one parent say that two nights in a row is tuff to give up) who volunteer are no exceptions.

I am filling in for Jessica who had another conflict and would like to talk about Troop 321 50th aniversity that we have decided last month will be held (tentative) on May 20th @ 3:00 PM in the church hall. This will also be our spring court of honor and we need your boys to complete all of the merit badges or rank by May 7th. We need parents to help with this and Ed will be contacting some key people in order to move this along.

We have the Rummage Sale at Presentation BVM that we help with cleaning up afterwords.

We also have Memorial Day that we help set up flags at the VFW post and attend the Memorial Day ceremony at the post.

We are quickly coming up to building foot lockers for the new boys. We need parents to help at St. Joseph’s School with the boys to cut (boxes are made out of 4x8 sheets of plywood) and assemble the foot lockers to be used for Summer Camp and even if your boy is not going or has not build a foot locker yet we would like parents to help.

We spoke about new parents attending Boy Scout training (see the URL below and go to Council/Council calendar) with this happening April 27th-29th which is short notice but is a great program for new parents or any parent that would be interested in helping with our Troop.

We have 15 boys signed up for summer camp and we will need the balance of money by June will get a date at a later time but you need to start planning to get your boys scheduled for physicals as well as any parents that will be staying the week.

Not sure of anything else but will keep in touch.

Thanks, Greg
