Vision Statement

From the outside, some may think scouting has no real value other than to distract youth, provide them with games, and camping activities.

Yet, almost all scouts who spend some time with his troop and his fellow scouts, will later in life remark that scouting–even if he did not achieve a high rank–had a positive influence on his life.

Here, boys often have their first chance to develop real leadership skills to be able to solve problems and coordinate groups of people.

Here, boys experience various occupations and skills that may drive their educational or professional pursuits.

Here, boys often realize who they are as an individual, and what they believe in, during the impressionable teen years.

If anything, our troop is here for the boys. This is our vision statement:

Troop 1616 is a boy-led troop. Through our activities, challenges and games, we learn leadership, teamwork, accomplishment and service. While on the trail to Eagle, and to manhood.
