Boy Scout Troop 105: Welcome

Sponsored by the Bossier City Lions Club and led by experienced, trained and dedicated volunteers with over 200 years of combined Scouting experience, 4 of which are EAGLE SCOUTS, Troop 105’s primary purpose is to provide a quality, fun and exciting Boy Scout program for boys in the Bossier City area. The boys will have so much fun with their friends on the scouting adventure as they learn the core objectives of Boy Scouts: strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship.

The ultimate goal is for the Boy Scout to earn the highest rank in scouting, EAGLE SCOUT. This is such a special significance not only in scouting but also in higher education, business or industry, and community service.

Troop meetings are held weekly at the Bossier City Lions Club on Bearkat Drive across from Bossier High School stadium, next door to the Bossier Council on Aging. (Click here for map)  Patrol meetings (1st Tuesday of every month) will be held at various locations to be determined by each patrol.

2008 was a busy year. We had a Troop kickoff pizza party/video scavenger hunt that was so much fun! The Troop hiked a 7-mile trek at Vicksburg National Military Park which was a huge accomplishment. NASA Space Center in Houston was a "blast" where they camped overnight & actually got to see where astronauts train & the historic mission control room. Last summer we spent most of our time in the water swimming, sailing, tubing at the Shreveport Yacht Club where they earned swimming/rescuing requirements as well as just having fun. Bistineau mountain biking was a "trip!" They completed an exciting 10-mile ride! They ended off the year at Camp Turkey at Garland where they worked on several merit badges.

2009 is shaping up to being another busy year from hiking, camping, mountain biking, etc. We attended Summer Camp at Camp Pioneer in Arkansas.
