Triple L Wins WSL/ASA D Slugfest
Shane Thomas, MVP of the D bracket, was lights out. His hitting paved the way for Triple L to go 7-1 on the weekend. The Dirt Brothers rolled off 5 wins Sunday in a one pitch format to win the D bracket of the Slugfest. Chris "Woo-Woo" Woolwine and Joey "He who let the dogs out" Boysel were also named to the all tournament team.
Triple L overcame many injuries to add to a first place showing in a NIT earlier in the year. Billy Hollis filled in for the outfield and Russell Swank held down thrid base after Tim Siemer injured himself in a thrilling game Saturday afternoon.

Triple L Wins USSSA D NIT
The Dirt Brothers won the D NIT held at Kettering Fields in Dayton, Ohio. The team went 4-0 beating Shirt Works in the final game. Averaging 14 runs and only allowing 7.25 per game was a tribute to the success. Defensive MVP was Joe Boysel and Offensive MVP was AJ Thomas. Also, all tournament team members include Bobby Walker, Brent Hiles, Gary Montgomery, Billy Hollis, and Chris Woolwine.
Triple L started the windy day with a victory of Trophy Sports to advance to a waiting Clark County Merchants team. Great fielding and timely hitting by all Dirt Brothers gave the team a 2-0 start. Bobby Walker fought hard on the mound to keep the hitters off balance and hitting into a vicious defense.
Triple L faced Shirt Works in game 3. Facing a three run deficit in the 6th inning and hitting into the wind, the boys put up six runs with two outs. The bottom 3 in the order reached base in consecutive at bats with Lloyd Moore with a clutch bases loaded hit. Shane, Brent, and AJ kept the inning going adding 3 more runs and sealing the victory.
In the final, Triple L started slow again, but was able to add big innings to take a comanding lead. Thus, giving the Dirt Brothers their bid to Orlando in September.
