*TYLA and PCA: TYLA and US Lacrosse have partnered with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to make lacrosse a positive, character-building experience for every athlete and to make the experience a more successful one for coaches, parents, fans and officials. We, at TYLA, feel this is the single most important thing we do for your children. We require all of our board members, coaches and parents (at least 1 parent per family) to attend the PCA seminar. PCA DATES: MARK YOUR CALENDAR!! THIS IS MANDATORY! YOU MUST GO TO ONE OF THESE SEMINARS: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, WINSTON SALEM: 7-9PM, location TBD SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, GREENSBORO: 1-3PM, Sheraton Four Season’s Hotel. You will receive a $25 refund for your registration upon attending one of the PCA seminars. If you are requesting a TYLA scholarship, you must attend the PCA seminar in order to receive a scholarship. If you have a valid scheduling conflict and can not attend the PCA seminar, you must complete the PAYS course through Greensboro Parks & Recreation. However, you will not receive a $25 refund, and you will have to pay for the PAYS.If you have any questions regarding PCA, please contact Wendy Hook: katfan1981@triad.rr.com Season Dates (February 20 through mid-May)
Practices for all teams (except Young Guns) will begin on Sat, Feb. 20 at Proehlific Park. All levels will have a few indoor practices prior to beginning practices outside. Outdoor practices will begin the week of March 1. All teams will have 2 week night practices, and a weekend practice until the games begin. You will be contacted via e-mail regarding your first practice time. Games will begin the weekend of March 20. Teams will not have games or practices during their spring breaks. Games will primarily be on the weekends. However, as the season progresses, and we have rain-outs, it will be necessary to reschedule games during the week. There will be opportunities to play on all-star teams following the regular season. All-star practices will begin in early April. There will be 3 post season, all-stars tournaments. All-stars will be over in mid June.
