We Will Be Seeking The Best Baseball Talent From
Washington County, MD
The WV Panhandle
And The Greencastle / Waynesboro Areas of Southern PA
We want to announce the formation of the TriState MudDawgs summer baseball program, which will consist of one each 16U and 17U team. The MudDawgs is a transformation from the highly successful Williamsport Nationals summer program that has participated in the Potomac Junior Legion Baseball League for the past 14-years. With the TriState MudDawgs, we plan to build on the foundation of success that the Nationals have established. As the new name suggests, we will not be limited to drawing our players from just Washington County. This new program will be reaching out to all eligible high school players from Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties in West Virginia, Washington county in Maryland, and the Greencastle / Waynesboro areas of southern Pennsylvania. With the dissolution of Berkeley Post #14 baseball in WV and other regional factors, we felt there was a significant need for a program like this along the I-81 corridor.
Our plan is to have the 16U MudDawgs continue play within the Potomac Junior Legion League and attend several tournaments. This is a well-run, highly competitive league, with a proven track record. If we maintain a schedule similar to the Nationals, this team will play roughly 35 to 40 league and tournament games each summer. The 17U MudDawgs will play a mix of regular season games with some of the area’s better quality age appropriate teams , but it’s primary focus will be on attending 4 to 5 high quality “showcase” style tournaments (Dynamic, Triple Crown, etc.) within the middle Atlantic region. Our goal is to provide our players with program continuity from their freshman to their senior years of high school, thus preparing them to play at the next level.
