Charleston, Try Club

Hello all fellow triathletes,

I'll be on business in KC staying at the Plaza next week. Does anyone know if there is a pool nearby that will accept guests and opens early like around 5:30?

Open Water Swimming

Goofballgirl,I sent you an email with some tips. Remember, this is a triathlon, not a 500 meter swim. Don't ruin your bike and run by expending all your energy on the swim. See you at the finish line.

I practiced my open water swim for the first time last night at the lake I will do my first tri swim. Was the first time since I live 2 1/2 hours away. Wow. I was struggling a bit. Open water is much different from the ol' pool. Any suggestions/advice on open water swim?

Thanks DPH. I truly do plan to savor every moment...even in the midst of my, not-in-the-best-of-shape, heavy and labored breathing. And yes, I will stop by and say hi afterward.

Thank you for the information DPH! I know it's not rocket science, but I think I am a bit nervous. Telling myself that is a good thing. Thanks again for the input.

Good Luck Goofballgirl

Goofballgirl, Good Luck at the Women's Tri. You can wear your swimsuit the entire race,or put a pair of bike shorts over your swim suit for the bike. You best choice is to wear our TRiKC jersey and shorts, or other similar triathlon clothing during the entire race. You save time by not having to change clothing.

Hi everyone. New to this. Doing my first triathlon on the Sept 13th. Excited, but a bit confused. The question...what is the best clothing to wear for the swim/bike transition? Thanks!
