"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will." - Vincent T. Lombardi

The Football Player's PERFORMANCE
As you well know, a football player has to be strong. If your opponent has similar skill, speed, and conditioning but you are significantly stronger, you will be superior on the field. You strengthen your body to improve your performance, but strength also reduces the chance of injury. The better prepared your body is to run, block, and tackle, the lower you chance of injury. There are various ways to get stronger. None is absolutely better than the others. Your genetic makeup and motivation will be the deciding factors in how strong you get. Although strength training improves your physical ability to play your position, it does not improve your skill. Practice is the key to improving the skill itself.

Sleep Longer To Grow Stronger
Sleep is your body's chance to recover and recuperate. Cardiovascular and muscle adaptations - though stimulated during exercise - actually occur while your body is at rest ( with the aid of proper nutrition ).
Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Help your body to fall into a pattern by going to bed and rising at the same times every day.

Getting Back In Shape!
Football season is near and those exhausting practice nights are almost here!. That means that you need to get up and get out there. Start watching what you consume and make sure you eat a well balanced meal daily packed with iron. Your muscles will thank you later if you start preparing your body now. We all know what coaches expect right?? Bear crawls, back petals, jogging, push-up's, sit-up's, and hard hitting!. Show those coaches what you are made of!! early in the season! Don't wait until August practice nights to prepare your body, get an early start! Condition your lungs for that extra wind you'll be needing. Remember, the stronger and most conditioned bodies are the ones that do not get hurt out there, and the ones that don't go home hurting after a tough practice! Talk to your dad's, uncle's, older brother's, they can help you get started. Go to the park and run laps, before you go to sleep do push-up's, get a routine down. So when practice starts, you will be " The Man "
