Braves Looking to Finish 1st
After a disapointing finish at the 2009 Ontario Championships, the Braves are looking ahead to snapping the Hamilton Pontiacs 6 year reign as Tri-County r egular seasn champs. Sitting with 28 points (14-2-0) the Braves are 4 points up on the Pontiacs (12-2-2). The Braves will have to go through the Ponticas to take the tiltle as they are set up to play the Final game of the season aganist those same Pontiacs on the 19th of August in Townsend.
Montgomery Dominates Commets
On Wednesday night the Townsend Braves improved to 10-3 behind a brilliant pitching performance by Alicia Montgomery in Port Colborne. Montgomery who remains unbeaten in regular season with a record of 8-0, struck out 11 Comet batters while and surrendered only one hit in a complete game shut out of the Port Colborne Comets. The Braves offence was lead by Janina Meade who had 2 triples, scoring 2 of the Braves 4 runs. The Braves are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Henning Park in Caledonia to take on the Saints.

PWSA Grand Championships Schedule Announced
The 2009 Int. Tier II Grand Championships schedule has been released. The event will take place July 31 to August 2. The tournament will open at 7:00 in Townsend with Oakridge taking on Bellville on Diamond 1 and Oak Ridges will play Chatham on Diamond 2. Friday will finish with a 8:30 game between Port Colborne and Niagara Falls. The Braves will start Saturday morning at 9:00 am as the take on the Windsor lady Expos. Congratulations Megan!!!
The Townsend Braves would like to Congratulate Megan Timpf on the teams fourth place finish at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Last summer Megan signed with the Braves and played in a few league games before leaving to join the National Team. Megan also started her Softball career in Port Dover with current Braves, Kimi Walker, and Janina Meade.
