Hey guys, hope everyone is enjoying fall season so far. I just wanted to let you guys know the TiTFL have some big plans in the works for 2013 and our winter season. We are just in the final planning stages for the 2nd annual International Bowl with the ICFL from Virginia/Maryland. We are planning on holding on to the trophy for another year and will be looking at playing in Baltimore some time in mid-January.
We have also been approached by a professional indoor team about playing an exhibition game in March and hope to announce all the details of that game shortly.
We are also excited about the possibility of playing in an international 8-man football tournament in California we have recently been invited to compete in. Once vetted and the logistics are figured out, we'll announce details of that tounament as well.
The TiTFL continues to grow year by year and gains recoginition throughout Canada and the US. This is a testament to the players, the team captains and the staff that have worked so hard over the last 5 years to grow the league and we look forward to bigger and better things as we move forward.
As we move towards the 2013 winter season, things are filling up quickly. Anyone interested in entering a new team in the league must contact the TiTFL owner/commisioner Jim Catton soon as we will most likely be only adding 1 team this season. For those free agents interested in playing, please e-mail your name, phone number, what position(s) you play and what experience you have to torontoindoortackle@hotmail.com. We get many e-mails regarding the season and without all that info, we can't help place you on a team.

Dragons are 2012 champs!
For the 3 time in 4 TiTFL winter seasons, the Dragons have won the TiTFL championship. In a hard fought game, it was the Dragons, led by the spectacular play of QB Kelly Hughes who came out victorious. The game started with a bang as Hughes connected with WR Kursten Brown for a long TD to take a quick 7-0 lead. The Goonz marched down the field in response but were stop on the goaline twice with great tackles by LB Kris Kusch and DB Shane Hall. From there, the Dragons took over as they build a 30 point halftime lead. In the second half, the Goon WR Ricky Clarke tried to do what ever he could to get the Goonz back in the game with a couple of quick TD's but Dragons could not be stopped. In the end the Dragon prevail by a score of 51-23. The TiTFL championship drew over 250 fans including City of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford who preformed the cermonial coin toss. Dragon Qb Kelly Hughes was named Offensive MVP after throwing 5 TD's and running for 2 more and LB Kris Kusch was named Defensive MVP.

For the 2nd season in a row, the Dragons have lost their standout QB to professional team in Germany. Last season it was Kelly Hughes signing with the Belefield Bulldogs in the GFL2 and Kelly went on to an impressive season earning MVP honours. This season, it's Jason Bertrand who has signed with L:andsberg X-Press. The former Mount Allison Mountie is already in Germany and will open up the regular season on April 21st. Never fear though, the Dragons will have Kelly Hughes handling the QB duties for the Dragons playoff run. Congrats to Jason as he moves forward in his football career.

It was a pleasure to see Toronto Mayor Rob Ford out to check on some week 1 action which included some of his former players from Don Bosco HS.

Hammers 48 - Wildcats 40
The TiTFL Hammer travel down to Pittburgh Saturday (Dec 17th) and took on the WPA Wildcatz of the WPIFL in a pre-season match up. The Hammers offence was led by QB Jeff Nosal (Commandos) who was able to pick apart the Wilcatz secondary and throw for 6 TD's. His favourite target on the day was Mark Simone (ThunderCats) who hauled in 3 TD's as well as Ricky Clarke (Riot) who had 2 TD's. When no one was open, Nosal used his legs to hurt the defense and was able to rush for 1 TD. Clarke was also able to chip in a kick return for a TD eventually leading to the other team deciding no to kick to him anymore.
On defence, while undersized, the Hammers used there speed to slow down the potent Wildcatz offence. Linebackers Mitch Martel (Dragons) and Niiamoo D'Quarshie (Goonz) were essential to that. On the back-end, DB John Boonstra coordinated the DB's to help limit the damage the Wilcatz speedy receivers could do.
With the win, the TiTFL now improve their record to 4-1 in friendly match-ups since it's inception in 2009.
Special Thanks goes to to Jason Hefferan and the WPIFL for putting on an amazing events and making us feel like pro's as well as the WPA Wildcatz organization for being great opponents... good luck to the Wildcatz in their up-coming season. Another special thanks goes to Alan Lazar and the London Silverbacks of the GMFL for lending us a team set of jerseys for the game.
