The Topeka Stars were formed in the Fall of 2008 as a competitive Academy U8 girls soccer team. The team was started in an effort to provide Advanced Training at a young age and prepare the team for high level competition in the future. Coaches for the team are Lance Wilson, Derek Snook, and Chris Slimmer. Lance and Derek are Trainers with the Prodigy Soccer Club with National D Licenses. Lance is also certifed by the AFPA as a Sports Conditioning Specialist and is Director of Sports Performance for the Prodigy Soccer Club. Eleven fantasic girls make up the roster along with an equally great group of parents. The team practices two days a week on Mondays and Thursdays.
The mission of the team is to promote the development of soccer players as individuals & teammates, to represent good sportsmanship despite the outcome of matches, to give 100% effort and attitude each time we step on the field, and to have fun, play hard, and play to win!

3rd, Patriot Cup, Lee's Summit, MO, U8 Division
During late spring of 2009 we will be holding parent meetings/player clinics for girls interested in starting a second STARS team for the 2009 fall season. For additional information contact Lance at 633-0128.
