June 7 - June 11

July 5 - July 9

Location: The campus of Louisiana State University

Ages: 7-17

Cost: Overnight Camper $550, Day Camper $350

THE PHILOSOPHY

Camp is about building character. Desire, sportsmanship and hard work are fundamental characteristics of a true champion. Most of all it's about tennis, playing tennis to one's potential and the opportunity for your child to develop his or her skills. We will work each day to achieve these objectives through goal setting.

THE PROGRAM

The daily schedule includes six to seven hours per day on the tennis courts. A strong emphasis is placed on fundamentals and consistency of performance. We combine intense physical and mental training along with a team
atmosphere to obtain maximum performance.

TUITION (Limited Enrollment)

Tuition for one week is $550.00 for residency. This fee includes room, board, secondary accident insurance and camp T-shirt. $350.00 for Full Day Campers (one meal only, lunch). Snack bars are available for participants use at their own expense (processing fee applies).

CAMP REFUND POLICY

Once enrolled, $100 is non-refundable and refunds will be prorated once camp has begun.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES

Camp also has organized group evening activities. Activities include a camp dance, gong show, an evening dinner off campus (Dutch treat) to practice etiquette, a night at the union and individual evaluation session. All evening activities are closely supervised by our staff to insure wholesomeness and safety.

INSTRUCTIONAL FORMAT

Individual instruction is provided by a one-to-four
teacher-student ratio, as well as daily specialized drills, match play, strategy sessions, video sessions, and conditioning. Campers will receive constant training in the following areas:

  • Stroke production, technique and fundamentals

  •
  • Drill situations to groove technique

  •
  • Physical training - running, strength, agility

  •
  • Match competition featuring singles, and doubles strategy

  •
  • Campers are videotaped during drills and match play

Campers will be grouped according to ability and the drills
and coaching technique will be geared to the ability level of the group.

SPECIALIZED SPEED & STRENGTH TRAINING

All campers will be tested for endurance and quickness. A portion of each day will focus on ways to increase speed, strength and power.

THE BEST FACILITIES

Southeastern Conference powerhouse, Louisiana State University, symbolizes a commitment to excellence in athletics. The LSU campus features the W.T. "Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium, as well as other excellent modern athletic facilities. In addition to the instructional tennis program, exciting off court activities are organized by the staff each night.

GETTING READY FOR CAMP

It's almost impossible to prepare for a regimen of hitting thousands of balls a day when you're used to hitting hundreds a week. There are several helpful hints to prepare for a great week at camp:

  • Start or expand a regular stretching program

  •
  • Work on cardiovascular fitness

  •
  • Hit more tennis balls

  •
  • Prepare to have fun

WHAT TO BRING

Detailed information concerning clothing, bedding,
and other necessary items will be emailed to campers upon receipt of application. All campers are required to have a doctor's certificate stating they are in good health and are able to participate in tennis. If you haven't done so already, CLICK HERE to download the form.
