THUNDER BAY ROWING CLUB - Fitness, and Community Wellness - Since 1904
Canada Day Regatta

Congratulations to Liam Parsons (TBRC) on winning the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics!  Liam Parsons, Mike Lewis, Jon Beare and Iain Brambell, the lightweight men's four finished in 5:50.09.  The Danish crew (5:47.76) successfully defended their Athens gold medal, while Poland (5:49.39) took silver.

THUNDER BAY ROWING CLUB

Why Row?
The Thunder Bay Rowing Club, one of the oldest sporting organizations in Thunder Bay, has sent local rowers to regional, provincial and national championships.  Club members have earned positions on national teams and have represented Canada at the international level.  Currently, TBRC members are rowing for Canadian Universities, NCAA crews as well as the Canadian National Team.

The Thunder Bay Rowing Club allows people of all ages and skill levels to experience this exciting and unique sport.  Rowing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people and get a good workout.  You can progress at your own pace - technically and physically.  This low-impact sport rarely results in stress injuries and the normal outcome of a rowing season is a strong back, stronger legs with more muscle definition and improved cardiovascular conditioning.  It is an excellent sport for cross-training (x-country skiing, hockey, etc.)

You might enjoy rowing with others in fours or eights - in boats up to 60 feet long - or you might prefer the serenity of a single.  The Thunder Bay Rowing Club offers many programs taught by qualified instructors and a certified rowing coach.  Programs are designed for different age groups and different levels of ability.  We have a program to meet your needs!
