TNL 12U Takes 5th at ASA Nationals!
TNL 12U finished with a 9-2 record to take 5th place at this year's ASA National Championships!

TNL 12U won their pool with a 6-1 victory over the 91 Texas Elite, followed by a victory over the Cedar Rapids Blue Devils 9-0.

TNL then took on the Olathe (KS) Rockets. After five scoreless innings, Samantha Slavinsky tripled and drove in the first run, then later scored herself as TNL won 2-0. TNL then dropped a game to the 91 Texas Heat 4-1 to fall to the loser's bracket.

In three elimination games on Friday, TNL prevailed over the Trevians 9-0, then after trailing 4-0 against our local foes, the Untouchables, TNL's bats came alive and TNL came away the victors, 7-5. Next came Tuscon Arizona's Desert Thunder. In a breakthrough fourth inning, TNL hitters struck again and again, breaking open a tight ballgame with a huge two-out rally. Final score in six innings: TNL 11, Desert Thunder 3.

TNL took the field again today (Saturday 8/7) hoping to repeat its three-victory performance of yesterday. In the first game, TNL defeated the Eugene Thunder by run rule 11-3. Next came a rematch with the 91 Texas Heat. A big 3-run first inning was all that was needed, but TNL tacked on another run later to send the Heat home with a 4-0 loss.

Next came OC Fury, a team TNL had never defeated. Well, today that all changed. Sparked by a 2-run first inning, TNL sent a tough OC Fury team home with a 4-1 loss.

Unfortunately, Sunday morning was the final game for a very tired TNL squad, who were eliminated by the eventual champion Minor's Gold (Hernandez). It was a great run for TNL, though, who brought home 5th place honors against the "Best of the Best!"
