As the 2011 season gets underway,
the board of directors would like to thank you for being a part of The Fire
organization and allowing us the privilege of watching your daughters grow,
both as athletes and as young ladies.
Because The Fire exists to develop
“Life Champions” and to instill in these young ladies the values of Courage,
Commitment, Respect, and Sportsmanship, we would like to remind you of a few
things.First, and foremost, we want to
provide a safe environment for your daughters; one that is nurturing and
reflects the values of The Fire. For
that reason, we ask that all Fire Families please show respect for our girls
and their families by refraining from any foul or
otherwise inappropriate language, as well as tobacco use (both smoking
and smokeless tobacco) within 100 feet of any playing
field, during practices and tournaments. In addition, Richland County
School District 2 bans all tobacco
use by anyone while on any District 2 property. This includes the softball fields at both Ridge
View High School
and Richland Northeast
High School. We do not want to jeopardize our privilege of
using these fields, or any other field, for practices. Also, we ask that you “leave no trace” by
disposing of all trash in appropriate receptacles. We want to leave a positive impression of The
Fire on those around us.
Please remember that it is very confusing
to the players when, during a game, parents shout out instructions which may be
contrary to what their coach(es) have told them.Show support for our girls by cheering for
them and encouraging them.Coaches, also
please be mindful that you are role models for these young ladies and act
accordingly.
We look forward to the continued
success of The Fire in helping you to “…develop life champions by improving the
knowledge, skills, and abilities required in competitive sports.”
