The Texas Wolverines capture their 4th GCFA Super Bowl Championship in 6 years with a 17-0 victory over the Texas Express on Saturday night at Thorne Stadium in Houston. This is the Wolverines 5th championship overall; they won the UPFL title in 2003 before joining the GCFA in 2004. Houston minor league football legend Keith "Gata" McCoy walked away with MVP honors in the final game of his illustrious career. McCoy played like a man possessed by recording 12 tackles (2 for loss), 3 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. The Wolverines "2-Headed Monster" at QB both contributed as Brandon Scruggs threw an 82-yard TD pass to Billy "The X-Factor" Stokes, which was the longest TD pass in GCFA Super Bowl history. Cedric "The Entertainer" Hobdy threw a 23-yard TD strike to Joe "The Iceman" Butler. Another Super Bowl record was set as K Matt Loschiavo nailed a 49-yard FG that had plenty to spare. The Wolverines would like to thank all of our fans who came out and supported us week after week. We can truly say that we have the best fans in the world. We love you all!
