Sept 24th "TEXAS ELITE Wins Fall Season Opener!"

    On September 24th, 2006 the '92 Texas Elite won first place in the (17) team 16U open 2006 Southlake Fall Classic.

    Saturday morning pool play began with ’92 Texas Elite defeating the Texas Glory (Weddle) 2-0. After a 3 hour rain delay Bracket play began Saturday afternoon with a Texas Elite win over the She-Devils 3-0. Saturday’s second and final game of the day for the Texas Elite ended with a 3-2 loss to the 91 Hi Voltage.

   Returning Sunday morning the Elite resumed play with a 6-3 win against the Texas Glory (Weddle).   Next up Sunday afternoon the Texas Elite held on to a close 6-4 win over the Texas Avengers. In Sundays third bracket game the Texas Elite’s offensive exploded with a 10 hit game resulting in a 10-0 shut out of the Texas Glory ( Swartz). Continuing their march to the championship game the Elite next defeated the Pirettes 3-1 and the Ft Worth Batbusters (Clay) 8-2.

   Sunday’s final game of the 2006 Southlake Fall Classic for the Elite was a match up with the Ft Worth Batbusters (Anderson).   With the weekends championship on the line Texas Elite’s Peyton Mosley stepped up once again pitching a no-hit, shutout leading the way for ’92 Texas Elite to take the first place title with a 2-0 win.

   Overall in bracket play with a record of 7-1 the Elite outscored opponents 42-13 and out hit opponents 42-22.    In 8 ball games Elite pitchers Peyton Mosley and Shayna Milam together pitched 1 shut out, 1 one hit game, and 3 two-hit ball games while striking out 42 batters for the tournament. Notably at one time or another all eleven Elite players rose to the occasion in the pursuit of this championship title.

October 1st the Texas Elite playing up in class won their second straight ASA 16U Tournament.

Saturday morning the Elite got off to good start by defeating the Texas Wildcats 6-0. In Saturday’s second pool game both the Elite and the Fire and Ice failed to get a run across the plate ending 0-0. Returning after lunch the Texas Elite began bracket play with a rematch with the Fire and Ice this time resulting in a 10-1 win for the Elite

Sunday the Texas Elite returned to the winner’s bracket with an early morning 4-2 win over the Speed. Next up the Elite shutout the Texas Travelers 13-0. In Elite’s third game Sunday they defeated the Ft Worth Batbusters ( Edwards ) 3-0 securing them a spot in the Championship for the second straight weekend in a row.

In the championship game the Elite shut out the Texas Wildfire 7-0.

Overall the Elite went undefeated in 7 games with 5 shut out's while out scoreing their opponents 43-3 finishing with a team batting average of .380 for the tournament.

October 14th the '92 Texas Elite were undefeated in the 16A NRGSL Fall Classic when the rains poured in bringing a halt to the tournament.

October 21st-22nd the ’92 Texas Elite participated in this teams first ever “College Showcase” in Grand Prairie. The team went undefeated in the 5 game format.

Early Saturday morning the Elite began play with a 5-1 win over the Fort Worth Batbusters (16A) Hamilton. In Saturdays second game the Elite outscored the MC Elite (16A) 4-2. The Elite’s final game Saturday was an exciting 1-0 win over the Texas Glory (16A) Mork. Sunday morning the Elite came out blazing with a 12-0 shutout of the MC Elite (18A) Hatfield. In the Elite's final game of the showcase the Elite let a one run lead slip away in the last inning resulting in a 2-2 tie with the Diamond Dolls (18A).

Over all the experience was extremely rewarding with several great pitching performances and a flawless defense. In (5) five games the Elite outscored their opponents 24 to 5 while their Pitchers racked up (1) no-hitter, (1) one-hitter, and two shut-outs.

The '92 Texas Elite will play November 11 in the Easton Elite College Showcase in McKinney, Texas.

TEXAS ELITE WINS BOMBER SHOOTOUT!

'92 Texas Elite won first place in the (32) team 2006 Bomber Shootout held in San Antonio, Texas this past weekend!

    Saturday afternoon the '92 Texas Elite began bracket with an outstanding Elite pitching effort that allowed only one hit securing Elite's first win against the Austin Connection 6-2.    In Saturday’s second game the Elite allowed only two hits while striking out 8 batters to defeat the Texas Showdown 2-1.    Returning early Sunday morning the Elite began play with a match up with the ’92 Austin Stars.    Again allowing only one hit while facing only 12 batters the Elite’s offense exploded with a barrage of hits shutting out the Stars 8-0.    Next up with a last inning rally by the Corpus Christi Panthers the Elite suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss sending them to the losers bracket.    In Sunday’s third game the Elite bounced back with a strong 4-0 shutout of the Texas Showdown.    Quickly moving from field to field the Elite next held the Texas Peppers to two hits while holding on to a close 4-3 win.    In a grudge match with the Corpus Christi Panthers the Elite while falling six runs down early in the game rebounded putting up 9 base hits to eliminate the Panthers in I.T.B. 7-6 sending the Texas Elite to the Championship game.    Sunday’s final game of the Bomber shootout was a match up with the undefeated Texas Lady Cats.    Once again with a solid pitching performance striking out 10 batters and allowing only 3 base hits the ’92 Texas Elite took the first place title in I.T.B. with a 6-2 win.

    Overall in bracket play with a record of 7-1 the Elite outscored opponents 38-16 and out hit opponents 45-24.    In 8 ball games Elite pitchers Peyton Mosley and Shayna Milam together pitched 2 shut outs, and 3 one-hit ball games while striking out 40 batters.    The Elite homerun club racked up a 5 more this weekend with homers by JJ Jackson (1), Kaylyn Vranich (1), Tricia Van Winkle (2), and Jessica Smith (1).    Special recognition goes to Cheyenne Delagarza-Stills for her outstanding effort in battling ‘90 plus degree weather catching all 8 bracket games.    Notably and most especially at one time or another all eleven Elite players rose to the occasion in the pursuit of this championship title.

The Texas Elite fell two games short of reaching the Championship finishing 5th in the 22 team April Fools Bash at Mckinney's Craig Ranch this past weekend.

In Saturday morning’s pool game win over the Silver Bullets the Texas Elite were devastated when in the first inning Elite’s starting catcher Cheyenne Delagarza-Stills suffered a broken thumb in an incident at home plate. With a bye in the first round the Elite returned later Saturday evening to come up short with a disappointing loss 7-5 against the E. TX. Longhorns sending them to the loser’s bracket. In Saturdays final game the Elite rebounded with a 13-0 shutout of the Texas Blaze.

Returning Sunday morning beginning their battle back through the losers bracket the Elite defeated the E. TX Commotion 5-3. Next up the Texas Elite rallied late in the game to defeat the Texas Sting 5-2. In a quick change of fields while continuing in back to back play the Elite next defeated the younger ’93 Texas Splash 5-3. Next up with a powerful showing at the plate the Elite beat the Oklahoma Excel 10-5. Finally in Sunday’s 5th straight game the Elite’s battle through the loser’s bracket ended with a loss to the Texas Rush 8-2.

The Texas Elite finished with an overall tournament record of 6-2 for a fifth place finish.

April 15th Easter 1-Day Classic

The ’92 Texas Elite were runner up in the Easter 1-day Classic held this past weekend in Grand Prairie.   Beginning Saturday morning in the no-pool triple elimination bracket the Elite put up eleven base hits including (Jessica Smith) GRANDSLAM home run to defeat the Tuff e Nuff 11-1.   Next up Saturday the Elite continued with another eleven hit game while defeating the Red Hot Explosion 9-1.   The third game Saturday was highly anticipated matching up of the ’91 and the ’92 Texas Elite sister teams.   Solid pitching along with some timely hitting proved to be enough for the ’92 Elite team to hang on to a 3-1 win over the ’91 Elite advancing them to the championship game.

After a long break the ’92 Elite returned late Saturday night to play the championship game with a rematch with the ’91 Elite.   With a good hitting performance in a game that lasted until midnight the ’91 Elite proved this time to be too much for the younger ’92 Elite team winning 9-1.

Overall with a season high performance the ’92 Texas Elite hit for a team average of .405 scoring 32 runs while allowing 12 runs earning them a second place finish in the 2006 Easter 1-day Classic.

April 29-30 TX Elite ASA/USFA NIT Grand Prairie, TX

      The ’92 Texas Elite went 3-2 this past weekend in the Texas Elite ASA/USFA NIT in Grand Prairie. Despite heavy thunderstorms Friday night the field crews at Jennifer McFalls park had the fields ready to begin play Saturday morning with only a 2 hour delay. Saturday morning the 92 Elite were matched up in pool play with the Texas Blaze. Pitching her first perfect game of the season Shayna Milam faced the minimum number of batters not allowing anyone to reach first base. Milam also produced a Grand Slam homerun late in the game for an 11-0 win over the Blaze. After a short break and a blind draw at the tournament board the 92 Elite were matched up again with the Texas Blaze resulting in another Elite win 10-0. In Saturdays final game the Elite put up their third straight shut out by defeating the Nitro 10-0.

Returning Sunday the '92 Elite we unable to get much going with two straight loss's to the '91 Texas Elite and the Slammers. Although scoring 32 runs in 3 games on Saturday, the '92 Elite on Sunday would only produce 3 runs in both games finding themselves in unfamiliar territory with an early departure Sunday morning.

    The ’92 Texas Elite went 1-3-1 this past weekend in the 14U Texas Hall of Fame Qualifier held in Deer Park, Texas.   Friday night pool play began with a 5-1 loss to the '91 Texas Peppers.    Early Saturday morning the Elite tied with the '92 Bombers 2-2.    In the Elite's first bracket game they suffered a huge upset when they were unable to hang on to a 5-2 lead going into the last inning ultimately losing 6-5 to the Austin Stars.    Next up in Elite’s second bracket game the Elite fought hard to beat the Texas Slam 1-0.   In ’92 Elite’s final game Saturday night they were forced to face their older sister team the ’91 Texas Elite, and despite a last inning rally came up short losing 7-4.

Congratulations to the ’92 Elite’s JJ Jackson and Jessica Smith for there fence clearing homers.

'92 Texas Elite won first place in the (16) team 2006 NRGSL 14A held in North Richland Hills this past weekend!

Saturday morning pool play began with two strong Elite performances defeating the Heat from Edmond,OK. 12-0 and the Red Hot Explosion 8-0. In Saturday’s first bracket game the Texas Elite got off to a good start with a shut out the Texas Glory 4-0. In Saturday’s final game the Elite fought hard to hang on to a 9-8 win over the Revenge.

In Sunday morning’s first game the Elite returned to play with a win over the NTX Shockers 4-3. Next up Sunday the Texas Elite went flat as they were dealt their first loss of the tournament at the hands of the Young Gunz 6-0. After a short break the Elite bounced back with a 19-1 win over the NTX Shockers setting up the rematch with the Young Gunz for the Championship. With both starters going the distance and both teams with 5 hits each and the score tied 2-2 the game was sent into ITB. First up the Elite managed to get two runs across the plate while the Young Gunz could only get one making the Texas Elite the Champions 4-3.

Overall for the Tournament with 7 wins and only one loss the Texas Elite outscored their opponents 60-16 while batting for a outstanding 403 average and an on base percentage of 562.

This weekend was Texas Elite’s final regular season tournament, and the First Place finish will certainly be a good send off as they travel to the USFA World Series July 15th in Panama City, Florida.

July 16th thru July 22nd the ’92 Texas Elite participated in the 14U (A) U.S.F.A. World Series held in Panama City Beach, FL. The team arrived Sunday evening and joined in as did over 75 teams at Frank Brown Park for the traditional opening ceremonies and pin trading. Pool play began Monday with the ’92 Texas Elite shutting out the tournaments 3rd place finisher N. Fulton Flames, TN 7-0. Next up Monday night the ’92 Texas Elite defeated the White Lightning Black from Georgia 7-1. Tuesday the Elite defeated the 5th place tournament finisher Collierville Dragons, 2-1. In Wednesday’s first game the Elite defeated the Spring Klein Impact from Houston, TX 2-0. Later Wednesday night the Texas Elite were handed their first loss of the tournament in a ITB finish with the Mississippi Southern Elite 2-3. Thursday morning while getting off to a slow start the Texas Elite managed to hang on to a 2-1 win over the Texas Glory. Thursday evening the hopes of advancing to the gold bracket came to an end when the 4th place tournament finisher Indiana Earthquake managed with just 2 hits to out score the Elite with 6 hits 2-1.

Overall the ’92 Texas Elite for the tournament finished with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses while outscoring their opponents 23-8. With this being ’92 Elite’s first time to travel to the white shores of the Gulf of Mexico to play in the USFA World Series the experience was a good one and can anticipate on a future return visit.
