Garland Results

'92 Texas Elite played their first tournament of the fall season Sept. 13 in Garland in a one-day single elimination series. Elite began Saturday with an early morning display of strong hitting and pitching, allowing opponent No-Mercy only two hits, winning 4-0. The second game matched us up against the larger girls of Ricochet, but speedy base running and timely hits gave Elite the win 4-1. Our third game was played against Quicksilver and while seemingly played less impressive still ended with our third straight victory with a final score of 4-2. At last we faced the much larger girls of the second year team All Mixed Up which proved to be our final game of the day. While both teams batted .500, Texas Elite fell short with a final score of 9-6.

'92 Texas Elite finished the tournament with a 3-1 record in this one-day single elimination tournament. Outscoring opponents 18-12, out hitting opponents 26-21, with a team batting average of .347 compared to opponents' average of .230. This tournament was a great chance for the girls, coaches, and parents to get back into the game, and come together as a team.

Release the Tiger Within...Texas Elite

North Richland Hills Results

Saturday October 4th, '92 Texas Elite played its first ever ASA 12A tournament in North Richland Hills. Our first bracket game was a physical hard fought match against the strong pitching from Texas Wild. The game was an impressive outing for Texas Elite but ended in a tough 3-1 loss. Our second bracket game was an exciting match up with a strong Texas Flash team that drew fans from all over the park. In spite of launching several hits that sent players of Flash racing to the fence, and sending the game into I.T.B (tie-breaker). Elite fell short with a 7-6 loss. With two losses in bracket play Elite was sent to play in the consolidation bracket, but was rained out Sunday morning.

'92 Texas Elite has proven to the 12A community that they are not to be taken lightly, and is living up to the great Texas Elite tradition of fielding yet another great ball team.

'92 Texas Elite traveled to Mt. Pleasant, Texas Oct. 18th, and finished 2nd in the USSSA 12 open one-day tournament. Beginning Saturday morning Elite battled the home town Hurricanes to a 2-2 tie. Next up was the Rapid Fire team from Flower Mound, which ended in a 3-1 Elite victory. Our first bracket game was a 2 hit shut out with the E. TX Fire which ended with us winning 6-0. Our second bracket game was with Quicksilver which ended a 7-1 victory. Our first loss in bracket play was dealt to us by Rapid fire 3-5. While fighting our way back through the loser’s bracket Elite beat the Flames 5-0, the Bad Attitude 2-1, and the Rapid Fire 4-1. With midnight closing in the championship game with the unbeaten True Grit team proved to be a game to remember. With Elite only 2 runs down and over 4 minutes left to play True Grit showed all of us how many ways to stall a game. With two trips to the mound and a changing of catcher’s all with only one batter at the plate, Elite was forced to send there girls to line up without continuing another inning.

Overall with 9 games being played and spending over 17 hours at the park the road trip to Mt. Pleasant was very successful.

Texas Elite pulled together for a worthy cause with the softball community to help others in supplying toys and canned goods to the local Metrocrest Social Services. According to this years tournament director everyone’s generous support made this a record setting year. He has asked me to thank everyone who helped make this year’s tournament so very successful.
