The Meaning of a CobraA Cobra is a girl
Who has given her best
She has fought the hard battles
And withstood all the tests.
She loves playing the game
With great courage and pride,
Without looking back,
Being sorry she tried.
She never gives up,
She never rests with a sigh,
She believes in herself,
And keeps her hopes high.
Errors have been made
She's down in the score,
Now is the time
To reach for even more.
Her stomach is churning
As the ball whizzes by,
She knows she can do it
If only she tries.
She digs deep inside her
To find all the fate,
She's got all the confidence
While standing at the plate.
A meatball down the middle
Is what she gets,
The bat cocks back
For the almighty hit.
She knew she had done it
At the crack of the bat,
She ran around the bases
As the coach tipped his hat.
For Cobras, true Cobras,
Stive again and again,
In knowing the glorious prize
Coach gives in the end.

IT'S 5:00 IN THE MORNING
I'M NOT QUITE AWAKE
MY COACH IS SCREAMING
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE!
WE'RE DRESSED AND WE'RE READY
BUT READY FOR WHAT?
THE FOUR MILES OF RUNNING
OR TWO HOURS OF SQUATS.
THE COACH SAYS, "YA'LL START RUNNING"
UP THE STADIUM AND DOWN
DON'T MISS A ROW
AND DON'T FOOL AROUND.
UP TO 12 A.M. LAST NIGHT STUDYING
FOR A TEST TODAY AT 8:00
NOW I'M HERE RUNNING
AND IT'S NOT EVEN DAYBREAK.
I THINK BACK TO THE COBRAS
IN SKILLS AND DISCIPLINE I GREW
I THOUGHT THAT WAS TOUGH
I HAD NOT A CLUE!
MR. KELCH, HE KEPT SAYING,
YOU GIRLS THINK THIS IS BAD
BUT IN COLLEGE YOU WILL REALIZE
THE EASY TIMES THAT YOU HAD
