VIOLENCE IN YOUTH SPORTS
As you all know by now, the youth sports world has once again been set back by violence. Tewksbury Youth Football has had a couple of potential issues and threats of violence this year. Parents booing and screaming at the referees at a Junior Division game between 7 and 8 year old participants, parents voicing a very negative statements at the coaches along the sidelines, parents sending negative emails regarding a coaching staff, and players responding to a play on the field in a threating manner to an opposing player. These examples are in direct VIOLATION of the our ZEERO TOLERANCE and the TOWN'S YOUTH SPORTS CODE OF ETHICS.
Each violation has been only a minor incident but non the less a violation. You are reminded that enforcing these rules is a very stressful task by the volunteers who support the program. However, you are now reminded that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. All guests along the sideline are required to adhere to the rules of the program and the Town's Code of Ethics.
Attending a youth game is a privledge. If you violate the rules you will be asked to leave the facility and are subject to a NO TRESSPASS order that will be issued through the legal process of the Town and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Have fun, do the right thing at the right time and enjoy your childs participation in the sport. SPORTSMENSHIP IS EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY.
COAT DRIVE
Tewksbury Youth Football is supporting the ANTONS CLEANERS "COATS FOR KIDS" Drive this year.
We will continue to collect coats for the next two weeks in support of this program. Adult and childrens coats are need. Check you closet and donate a coat to help keep a child warm this winter.
Coats may be brought to the snack shack during practices or games.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

MERCY RULE
To all Participants and parents,
Please be advised that Tewksbury Youth Football has had a MERCY RULE for all IN-TOWN DIVISIONS that was implemented two years ago. The basic rule reads as follows:
F1.3 Any team losing by 19 or more points will take over possession of the ball at the 50 yard line regardless of which team has just scored.
F1.5 When the point differential is 30 or more points, the game is over.....
This rule was established in the best interest of all the participants.
