big, versatile, talented athlete can play the point. And he can play the two.
And oh, yes, he can play the three. And he can play all of them well.No
wonder Providence got his commitment even before he laced up for Monroe.

SHAVAR BURCH- (UPPER ROOM) SAN ANGELO STATE (DIVISION II)
The Angelo State men's basketball team withstood a serious comeback by Southwestern Oklahoma to defeat the Bulldogs, 88-85, Saturday night in Weatherford to remain undefeated on the season.
The 7-0 start by the Rams matches the best start in school history, first done by the 1981-82 squad and then matched by the 1993-94 team. The Bulldogs, who entered the game coming off their first loss of the season earlier this week at No. 4-ranked Southwest Baptist, drop to 6-2 on the year with the loss.
The Rams controlled the game from the beginning, starting the game by scoring the first ten points and a 15-1 run, and holding the Bulldogs without a field goal for the first seven minutes. ASU would eventually forge its largest lead of the game at 20 points with 9:37 left in the first half, 26-6, and again with 3:14 remaining, 37-17, before SWOSU would close out the half with a 12-1 run to cut the deficit to nine points, 38-29, heading into the locker room.
ASU opened the second stanza with a 12-4 run to regain a double-digit margin, 50-33, in the first three minutes. The Bulldogs began to chip away and with 4:09 left pulled to within five points at 71-66. The Rams would make their free-throws down the stretch and that would prove important as the Bulldogs would make it a one-possession game with 2.7 seconds left, 87-85, but Ryan Bennett's back end of a two-shot free-throw attempt and a steal of the ensuing inbounds pass by Derrick Webster put the game in the Rams' back pocket.
ASU was led in scoring by Shavar Burch who led four players in double figures with 24 points and also took game-high honors with nine rebounds. Lionel Brown and Bennett kept their streak intact by having scored in double-figures in every game this season with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Nathan Walton rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points.
SWOSU was led by Clarke Hale who tied Burch for game-high honors with 24 points. Four other Bulldogs finished the night in double figures with Jose Garcia collecting 16 points followed by Jerard Campbell with 15 points, Kenneth White with 11 points and Abdullah Lawal with 10 points.
The Rams had their second-best free-throw performance of the year converting 31-of-38 from the line for an 81.6 percentage. ASU controlled the boards as well pulling down 39 rebounds to SWOSU's 28.
The Rams will go for a school-record eighth straight win to start the season when they take to the floor in Lawton, Okla., on Monday. ASU faces Cameron in its next game with tip off set for 8 p.m. and all the action can be heard in San Angelo on KKSA 1260-AM and on the internet at AngeloSports.com by clicking on "Angelo All-Access".
