Our Philosophy

The organization is run by Olympic Gold Medalist Julie Smith and former Division 1 and NPF coach, Terry Schweikert.

Our coaches bring unparalleled experience and expertise as coaches. Julie and Terry expect the highest level of effort and a winner’s attitude from our student-athletes.

TeamSmith’s goal is to prepare our athletes to play softball at the highest level. Our focus is on creating a solid foundation in each of our student-athletes. TeamSmith players will learn the game, learn to think the game, learn to play the game, and at all times learn to respect the game.

Being well-rounded is critical in the development of a student-athlete. Therefore, in addition to athletic skills, TeamSmith players must also practice solid classroom skills. Without exception, each TeamSmith student-athlete must maintain a “B” average and must have good citizenship marks. Furthermore, players within our organization will understand that the TEAM comes first and that loyalty is a huge component to TeamSmith.

ASA Nationals Qualifier Champions!

Congratulations, Ladies, for earning your berth to the 2009 ASA 12u Nationals in Normal, Illinois!   You did a great job beating your opponents in pool play and in the championship.  Keep working hard and stay focused and you will reap the benefits at Nationals!

Minor's Gold Tournament Champions!!!

   Congratulations, ladies, for your terrific showing and ultimate championship win at the Minor's Gold Classic Tournament on June 13 and 14th.  TeamSmith went 7-0 for the tournament and outscored their opponents 67-6!  Your batting and defense were consistent and strong.  Great job!

Finalists - St. Paddy's Day Tourney Las Vegas - Finalists 

Great job in Vegas this weekend ladies! 

TeamSmith played tough against several competitive teams from No. Cal, So. Cal, Nevada, and Arizona earning a 3-0 record in pool play- scoring a total of 17 runs, while allowing only 5.  Championship day was a grueling 5 games straight, ending with a close and exciting finals game against a tough 'Lil Rebels team from Las Vegas. 

Ladies, we continue to be proud of you.

Dynasty Toys for Toys Finalists!

     Congratulations to all the ladies for doing so well at the Dynasty TFT Tournament this past weekend!  TeamSmith outscored their opponents 29 to 1 on Saturday, placing them 1st in their pool.  During elimination play on Sunday, they continued their tear, out-scoring their opponents 32 to 8, beating the American Athletics 4-2 to get to the championship game against Cal Thunder.  TeamSmith took an early 1-0 lead in the first, but Cal Thunder battled back to win 6-2 in a tough game that ended a great weekend of softball.  Great job, ladies!
