We Invite You to Help Our Team Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis!

Mike Farmer formed Team MO-KAN-DO in 2004 to participate in the MS Society annual bike tour in Kansas City, Missouri with the following vision: 

(1) to increase community awareness about the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis,

(2) to help raise money to support research and programs related to the disease, and

(3) to help people have fun.

As Team MO-KAN-DO we hope to keep this vision alive & participate in the Bike MS Kansas City tour every year until a cure for multiple sclerosis is found and there is no longer a need for fundraising.

We are a community-based family of people who love cycling and have a mission to help fight MS. We have all degrees of cycling skill and leave most training to the individual, but we get together frequently for group rides and other activities making it fun to be a part of Team MO-KAN-DO.

THERE ARE OTHER PERKS WHEN YOU JOIN TEAM MO-KAN-DO: On Day 1 of the ride you get to start ahead of individual riders and most teams and you get a fabulous lunch and dinner provided by our special group of volunteers; we have our own team tent in TeamMS Village in Sedalia; we have a block of reserved motel rooms available in Sedalia if you prefer not to camp out at the end of Day 1; AND, you make lots of great new friends!

HOW DID WE GET OUR TEAM NAME? We put it to a vote in 2004 and MO-KAN-DO won. Most of us are from MO-ssouri and KAN-sas, and we will DO-it to help fight MS !!!

WE ARE AN AWARD-WINNING TEAM: In 2007 and 2008, the Mid-America Chapter of the MS Society honored Team MO-KAN-DO with two awards:  Top-Fundraising Friends and Family Team & Largest Friends and Family Team.
