THANKS COACH K FOR THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME.

Mainland Allstars

MAINLAND DOES IT ALL & WELL!
MainLand All Stars  21
Hawaiian Warriors   14
With the offense starting out slow and the defense making huge stops, plays and causing the Warriors QB to scramble for his life.....all that was left was for special teams to score.  And the MainLand All Stars did!   With the help of Johnny Wayfer returning an onside kick off and Running Back Rob Knight running all over the field including a key 3rd down run off of a toss play kept the MainLand ALL STARS alive and in control of this game.
Defensive player Johnny Wayfer took away ANY chance of the Warriors having success with his K.O. return for a TD.
Along with Rob Knight's ball control and hole hitting speed, the warriors had a battle.
CJ Woods of the Rochester, Giants had some key receptions to add to the offensive attack.  On one play Offensive lineman #77 Rick Richards, (HUMPTY) pancaked a Warrior only to be penalized for a face mask infraction.  His block was so aggressive that his hands continued to drive the Warriors defensive player backwards into a cloud of RED dust.
MLB Buford anchored the defensive attack keeping the middle of the field closed up.  Adam Story and Gary Ristick made things hard for the warriors to have any offensive success.
Edward Winston didn't give an inch in his muti positions played on offense.  At lineman or fullback he was a force they had to deal with.
Steve Church and Jamar Boone made the opening series for the Warriors (using a spread passing game) very unsuccessful!  THEY were all over the opponents Wr's using jam techniques and great skill and desire to stop the passing attack.
MainLand ALL STARS kicker Jason Yellins' two field goals/P.A.T's that were disallowed (by the officials call)  were reinstated.  His punting was incredible.  His kick offs are............well lets say they are still waiting for the ball to come down.............  His field placement kept us alive.
Rob Esquibel wasn't letting anything beat him or US deep.
LOG Gary Cullenton, from England played with great skill and desire.  Its players like these that gave this years team a win.  His backside scoop blocking was ROCK Solid!
A late comer to the team was Nick LaFontaine at QB and he help establish the offense and lead the attack.  Add Kala Calberto to the SE/Wr and the Warriors had to much to deal with!
OLB/MLB/DE Tom Forsyth #25 kept the defensive depth at No. 1!!  He played multi positions, each position he played at was a headache to the Warriors.  His pass rush and run stop, QB pressure killed any offensive strike the opponents may have had.
The coaches Knight, Degree, Shaw and Green kept the players well prepared and rested.  The game knowledge these men possess is second to none.  Coach Knight even celebrated his 30th B-day on the win day!!  LOL  Coach Shaw was in our players ears between series keeping them up to speed on fronts and assignments.
Coach Green ran the ready area for special teams and was a total asset to the team.  Coach DeGree was able to attack a great defensive scheme ensuring the victory!
Some minor injuries occurred to the MainLand players but minor is the key word.
Our Athletic Training staff headed up by Barbara was first rate.  Supplying (personally) fruits, snacks, water, hydration and solid field injury prevention and care is another strength this team has/had!  They started every session with the team in practices and thru both the Youth Game and the All Star game.
EVERYONE - Everyone mentioned or not was the reason and a key factor this team has success.  Remember there is not an "I." in team.....but there is an "M." & and "E."
ALOHA and MAHALO!
