After 53 Straight Wins, Team 19 Loses In the Superbowl To Loveland #2
After 53 straight wins, Team 19 finally loses a game and unfortunately it came during the 2008 CYFL Championship game. Loveland #2 was both well prepared and well-coached. Loveland won the time of possession, won the turnover ratio, and had less penalties than Team 19. In the first half, Team 19 was driving the ball well but when it was 3rd and goal from the 6 yard line we had a costly illegal procedure call that they could not bounce back from and turned over the ball to Loveland inside their own ten. Loveland marched the ball down the field right before half sparked by two nice catches but the half ended in a tie. The second half started with Team 19's defense bending but not breaking. A fumble on a punt return for the Tomahawks set up great field position for Loveland. However, Team 19 had a great goal-line stand and stopped Loveland on their own one yard line 4 straight plays. Team 19 then had the tough job of taking over offensively on that same one yard line. They moved the ball out to about the 20 but was forced to punt with about 5 minutes left in the game. Loveland pressured the kick well and the Loveland returner made a nice snag catching the punt in stride and returning it to the Tomahawk 3 yard line. Team 19 could not muster up another goal line stand and when Loveland converted the kick they took the lead 8-0. Team 19 took the ball and drove it down the field hoping for the game tying touchdown. However, the drive stopped on Loveland's 20 when Team 19 had its second turnover on a fumble. After three more costly penalties for Team 19, Loveland then tacked on a second touchdown to ice the game and win 16-0.
Needless to say the boys of Team 19 where heart broken but regardless of the outcome of the game, Team 19 players should hold their head up high as they have nothing to be ashamed of. They played their heart out but just came up short this year. I am just as proud of them this year as I was last year. It is very difficult to try to win three straight CYFL Championships. As a matter of fact, no other Tomahawk team has ever done that. To win two League Chammpionships in a row and to follow it up with a League Runner Up is nothing to be discounted. Count on Team 19 coming back with a vengenance next year to win that title in their last year.

Team 19 Is In The Final Four With Tough Battle Over Lakota Team 3
In the first round of the playoffs for Team 19, they where faced with a rematch of the 2006 Superbowl by matching up with Lakota Team #3. Team 19 knew that Team 3 would be well prepared by their coaching staff and be fired up for the battle. It had to be a fun one for the fans to watch. After both teams went four and out, Team 19 went on a 15 play drive and took the lead when Nick Sam banged his way in from the three yard line which was followed by Austin Williams who split the uprights to make it 8-0. Team 19 took the ball in the second half and put together another drive that took the entire third quarter but on the 12th play from the 8 yard line they fumbled and turned the ball over. Five plays later the defense picked up the slack for Team 19's offense when Kaleb Lepper picked off a pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown. After Austin Williams make his kick again the score went to 16-0. Michael Reimer put the nail on the coffin when he also intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown to make the final score 22-0.
Nick Sam led all rushers with 78 yards rushing while Andrew Acuna added 26 and Kaleb Lepper added 18. The defense was led by Brody Ketron, Brett Schneider and Andrew Acuna who had three tackles a piece while Austin Hatfield, Andrew Binzer, Ben Hinton, Naai'l Mahdi, and Tyler Bostion all had two. Jordan Shean also added an interception to end the game.
Hats off to Team 3 players, coaches, and fans who are a class act and had to over come a lot of adversity this year to make the playoffs. They should be very proud of their accomplishments.
Once again Team 19 cheerleaders put on a great "show". Cheers are led by Leah Aspinwall, Sydney Gormont, Emily Harris, Jenna Hill, Ryanne Kotte, Emily Oleson, Isabel Oleson, Erika Orr, Tristan Philpot, Brittany Shannon, Morgan Smith, Jessica Towns, Kelsie Wieland, and Kaelin Wieland
Up next for Team 19, fellow Tomahawk Team #20.

Team 19 Wins Battle Against Loveland #2 8-6
Hurricane Ike could not stop Team 19 from beating their toughest competition of the year Loveland #2 8-6 in a great game. Team 19 took the opening drive and drove down the field and on the sixth play of the drive, Kaleb Lepper found the endzone on a 10 yard run. In a huge wind storm Team 19 called upon Austin Williams to pull off what most people thought was an almost impossible feat. However, with the elements against him he split the uprights to complete the kick conversion which ended up being the game winner. Late in the game, Loveland scored to make it 8-6 and needed to match the T'Hawk kick to send the game to overtime. However when the Tigers went to kick it, Nick Sam of the Tomahawks blocked the extra point kick to conserve the victory. Sam also led all rushers with 55 yards rushing while Andrew Acuna added 36 yards. Acuna also led the defense with 6 tackles. Tomahawks Go 3-0 For The Weekend For A Great Start To The 2008 Season
It was a busy but exciting 1st weekend for Team 19 as they opened up the season Saturday at Paul Brown Stadium sporting their new white jerseys. The T-Hawks came out rusty as Mariemont scored first and was ahead at halftime 6-0. However, at the start of the 2nd half, the T-Hawk offense took over and scored quick to tie the game at 6-6. The defense stood strong and got the ball back into the hands of the offense as they marched down the field for the game winning TD 13-6. The offense was led by Andrew Acuna who rushed for over 100 yards and two TD's while Kaleb Lepper added the point after run.
Sunday brought Lakota's Jamboree games pitting T-Hawk team versus T-Hawk team. Team 19 looked strong as they beat both Team #18 and Team #20 15-0 a piece. TD's where scored by Andrew Acuna, Kaleb Lepper, DJ Benson and Naa'il Mahdi. Jordan Shean and Kyler Bengal ran in both of their conversion runs while Austin Williams converted both of his extra point kicks.
The jamboree contests where also very favorable for Team 19 as Nick Sams finished 1st in the run while Naa'il Mahdi finished 3rd in the run. Kaleb Lepper also finished third in the passing competition.

T-Hawks Win Preview Game 24-0 and Tie Death Valley Bowl
T-Hawks looked great as they won their preview game against Indian Hill 24-0. Indian Hill won the toss but deferred and gave the ball to the Tomahawks. Why? So the Tomahawks took the ball and ran it straight up the gut and marched down the field but fumbled on the 1 yard line to stop the drive. The stingy T-Hawk defense stopped them three and out which set up an exciting play. Naai'l Mahdi received the punt, sprinted to the left, and was gone for the first TD untouched. Austin Williams converted the kick to make it 8-0. The Tomahawks went on defense and after a Jordan Shean interception drove the ball down to the ten but ran out of time before half. The next score came on a Brody Ketron 30 yard sprint around the corner while Austin Williams converted the extra point kick. The Tomahawks last TD came on a 10 yard reception from Ketron to Jon Fox and Austin Williams once again converted the extra point kick. Brett Schneider had 30 yards receiving/rushing, Austin Hatfield had 25 yards rushing, Kaleb Lepper had 37 yards rushing/receiving and Andrew Acuna had 32 yards rushing. Ketron finished 4 of 9 for 43 yards passing. The Tomahawk defense only gave up one first down the entire game. Tackles where led by Andrew Binzer 3, Chandler Forsthoffer 3, Austin Haley 3, Nick Sam 2, Tyler Towns 2, Mikey Kennard 2, and Brett Schneider 2.
The next day, Team 19 traveled to Mt Healthy to play the Super Bowl runner up for their prospective league, Three Rivers. Although the Tomahawks racked up close to 200 yards of offense, they could not put the ball in the endzone due to costly penalties and fumbles. Team 19's defense was solid only giving up one first down and allowing negative yards of offense for their opponnent for the game. It was disappointing to see the game end in a tie even though the Tomahawks dominated the game from the first snap.
