Tar Heel Lacrosse Camp: Holiday Shootout
This years 2009 Holiday Shootout will take place on Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th. Both days will consist of an 8v8 format. We are limiting the event to 20 teams per day. The cost will be $750 for one day and $1300 for both days.
Tar Heel Holiday Lacrosse Showcase
1. Each team must have an adult coach who will be in charge of team discipline and act as the team’s representative.
2. Each team will play 5 games. Games will be 40 minutes running time with a 2 minute half time. A game ending in a tie will be decided by a sudden-death overtime, which begins immediately after regulation time with a face-off.
3. Each half begins with a faceoff. Wing middies must have a foot on the sideline at the midfield line. Defensemen and attackmen must remain behind goal line extended until the referees signal possession. Goalies must remain in the crease until possession is signaled.
4. After a goal is scored, the ball is awarded to the scored upon goalie who puts the ball in play from his crease area. A ref must blow a whistle to indicate that play resumed.
5. Penalties will be called according to high school rules. Penalty time does not start until the penalized player takes a knee in the box area.
6. All substitutions are on the fly. Players must touch sticks at the sideline before entering the field of play.
7. Team members must wear matching jerseys or tank tops.
8. Maximum of 3 longsticks on the field at a time. Onside is in effect- 2 players on offense and three players on defense at all times.
9. If a team scores with a flag down, the teams will remain at even strength, however the offended team receives the ball at the midfield line.
